Sony lied to all of E3 when they made trading used games seem easy and fee free. Microsoft and Sony are both alloying the developers of their respected games, to employ a used games fee when trading... Microsoft decided to to tell the truth however and for that I am sticking with the X1 next-gen. You can still have legit arguement that the PS4 is cheaper and does not impose the creepy kinect thing (on stand by mode it only listens for "Xbox On") on you, but in my mind Xbox will win the next-gen again.
Check the links if you're doubtful. I was very disappointed at Sony's poor sportsmanship this year.

4 RepliesThe difference is that MS forces it and Sony gives the publisher the option to do it. It's been like that since last gen. Remember the online passes EA used? That's basically what Sony's is doing. The give the publisher the option to do online passes.
-
9 RepliesIts not the same at all, xbox requries you to connect to the internet so that allows for the restriction of used games if they so desire. The only way the ps4 can resrict used games is through the digital copies of games. What sony is doing for physical copies of games, is what we have now.

17 Repliesim joining the PS fanboy side until this shit blows over because I will kill one of.. us.. for being so misinformed. so here it goes. Xbox has so many more problems then the PS4. its not even worth telling you a thing about the PS4, not because it doesn't do anything, but because Xbox is so f'ed up they are making me pay for taking my friends game. the xbox one doesn't deserve to be in the console race because sony said that thing at e3 and posted that video on youtube that I thought was funny... I know nothing

26 RepliesChrist almighty, xboxfanboys are in a state +of TOTAL MELTDOWN after E3. Nobody cares that you hate sony or that you just looooove the xbone. Buy one and get on with your life. Your opinion won't convince anyone to buy or not buy that horrible system. GO AWAY.
-
1 ReplyPublishers have always had the option. That's what online passes were all about. The difference is that MS has built the mechanisms into their console to strictly enforce rules for the publishers. If publishers want to prevent sharing on a Sony system, they have to do all that work themselves.
-
Well the Xbox One costs an extra $100, has a compulsory Kinect that not everyone wants, which is always connected, has always online and it still has nothing over PS4 other than DRM, so I suppose PS4 is still best. But Xbox One will have a better community and more and better exclusives and Skype making it worth it but it depends on what you want. I want both but can only afford one.

3 RepliesCA-COUGH! I hate to tell you this, but on-console vs. publisher DRM are two entirely different things. You are terribly misinformed.

8 RepliesThe PS4's statement refers to Publishers having the ability to implement an Online Pass. Which is exactly how it works on PS3 now. Microsoft's system allows a Publisher to deny a customer the ability to effectively sell the game at all but having tools within the system that makes unauthorized used games unplayable. Pretty big difference between the two.
-
6 RepliesThey clearly stated that the console itself will have no restrictions. The developers themselves have the power to block used games yes, but the point is Sony didn't take the time to add all of these bullsh*t restrictions to their console. They didn't lie about anything. The Playstation 4 has no restrictions to used games.

10 RepliesEdited by Dread0124: 6/14/2013 3:48:57 AMLoL @ all the sony fanboys that cant take it. to defend some arugements on the xbox; The kinect can be turned off, if u dont want the govt to spy on you then u should never go out in public ever. Its really not even a big deal as you dont even have to use the connect, its mandatory to buy but not to use, but would obviously make the Xbone experiance that much better. The allways online can be authenticated by a cell phone app. The DRM is very very similar between the two consoles, aside from that i dont see developers saying "no you cant sell my game" as that would inevitably impact sales. The $500 price tag is obviously because of the kinect wich is where the xbox really shines, I for one am very excited to see the capabilites of the kinect, xbone and cloud computeing working in unison.

1 ReplySo..line of logic here is "Microsoft says something, it's true and it's the best. Sony says something, they lied and are actually gonna do the worst thing. See?".

US journalist Geoff Keighley on Gametrailers claims to have 'heard' that Sony is likely to enforce similar used game policies to its rival.
Real iron clad evidence you have there. This article is trash.

4 RepliesDude it's called reading. That article was posted on may 27th which if I'm correct was BEFORE E3! Please read before giving us false sources

2 RepliesSir I fully agree with you at this point

3 RepliesEdited by Guru: 6/14/2013 1:25:51 AMEh still not worth it.

2 RepliesBesides, Microsoft stated that the Kinect feed ends within the box, and you can shut the Kinect off entirely.
