I have a bad feeling this game is going to suck. Its going to be another Coop PVE snoozefest with some COD-ish instanced based PVP tacked on. So much for that whole next generation game thing. Sounds more like theyre taking steps backwards instead of forwards. A next gen game would have open world PVP. Either faction based or free for all. Give the carebears someway so they dont have to be involved with the PVP if they dont want to but give the PVPers open world PVP. Instanced based PVP is ancient game design, like Quake or Unreal Tournament. I cant believe Bungie screwed up the PVP in this game. I cant see myself paying $60 for COD style PVP.
Campaign:
"The objective of a Campaign is to take over the zones and capital city of the opposite realm.
Between the opposing zones in each tier, there is a unique battlefield. Initially, control of the battlefield is divided evenly between Order and Destruction, but as victory points are gained by each side through RvR gameplay, questing, and Public Quests, control of the battlefield shifts to the side with the greater share of those victory points. As your realm gains greater control over an individual battlefield, bonuses are granted to all players on your side within that tier. Earn enough victory points, and your realm will gain full control of that battlefront, and the tier within it. A percentage of victory points from Tier 1 spill over into Tier 2. Likewise, a percentage of victory points from Tier 2 spill over into Tier 3, and from Tier 3 into Tier 4, so your victory points gained in lower tiers increase your points in upper tiers. Even low level players in Tier 1 will ultimately be contributing to the overall war effort.
Tier 4 is where each realm will struggle for the ultimate prize – capturing the capital city of an opposing army. Tier 4 is the final battlefront. To open a capital city to attack you will first have to capture the neutral zone in the center. Once you have enough victory points to control that zone, its scenarios will lock down, and scenarios in your enemy’s tier 4 zone will open up, allowing your realm to attack that zone. If your enemies then gain victories of their own they can push the front back to the neutral zone and potentially open up your own Tier 4 zone to attack. This makes Tier 4 a constant struggle for the battlefield.
If you gain enough victory points to control the enemy’s Tier 4 zone, the enemy capital city itself will become open to attack, opening up a new range of scenarios inside that city's zone, detailing the attacks on the stronghold. If that attack is successful then the controlling realm will be able to (temporarily) conquer and ransack most of the enemy capital. Burning, looting and special NPC encounters are sure to follow. You will not be able to hold onto your enemy city indefinitely. Systems will be in place that will eventually wrest control of the city back to the rightful owners. When this happens, the campaign will begin again.
Each racial paring has a different campaign going on at the same time, and do not effect each other."

2 RepliesEdited by gilshy: 6/12/2013 1:34:55 AMThe only details we have on PVP is that it isn't entirely open world, which should have been guessable. There still very well might be an open PVP world, it'd just have to be somewhere you travel too. And you wouldn't be paying $60 for CoD style PvP, PvP is just a part of Destiny, but if you can't see yourself getting your money's worth then don't buy it.

Typical multiplayer only player. Story>multiplayer GTFO OP

2 Repliesyeah if it's just PvE like borderlands it won't interest me very much. I hope PvP is still part of it.
-
1 ReplyI'm sorry, I wasn't aware Destiny was supposed to be an all-out large scale pvp shoot-em-up.
-
2 RepliesHow can you possibly say anything about the PVP when you haven't seen it at all in action? We barely have any information on it. Just wait for it to be shown, then you can start whining.

4 RepliesEdited by Guru: 6/13/2013 1:57:29 AMYou are obviously very new in fact so new that you made this profile today so I will ignore those uninformed words flowing from your brain onto your key board and into this website that you made a forum on. Bungie practically invented multiplayer with Marathon. They revolutionized it with Halo. Your words may be opinion but they are uninformed words of opinion. Now go do some research, wait until they actually SHOW us some PvP and see if they include your open world stuff. Then you can talk smack about this game. But when your argument and opinion is about things no one has even seen yet it's stupid to even argue against it.

Quake!

1 ReplyI just...no...why are you...even here? Destiny is based on PvE. We have no idea how PvP works, but it is not the focus of the game. This is not an MMO, you'll probably not encounter more than 20 people at a time. Instance-based PvP has no place in the Destiny storyline.

8 RepliesPve snoozefest is a little harsh. They haven't said if this game will have open world pvp. The biggest part of bungie games is the story. Have you ever read a book or watched a movie? For many people, games are the same as those, a story. The pvp system is one element that hasn't had the spotlight on it yet. Wait till that day before passing judgement. If you want world pvp play planetside 2 or world of Warcraft until bungie explains its plan.

Edited by Jeshuaaaa: 6/12/2013 5:19:38 AMWe have no confirmation about anything involving PvP besides Pete Parsons confirming your character's gear, equipment, leveling, etc DOES carry over througout all of Destiny. Open-world PvP on a smaller scale that's separate from the core and fundamental game might already be being implemented. Just wait.

21 RepliesOpen-world PVP is an absolutely horrendous idea.

this guy doesnt know bungie very well
