A level of pure detail and immersion like that would be beyond spectacular. I actually believe, and hope, there will be something like that in Destiny, the whole character effects thing and the cape sound very much like a possibility. A way to make clans and the like more personal would be custom emblem editors, but the problem there is that you'll get some idiot kids making Marijuana leafs and penises all over capes and armor.
