Thinking about launch and the community ready to eat through the floor boards for information I was wondering about the first hours of launch. If creating a character is a lengthy process then maybe Bungie should demo it early so the community can go full bore into the wilderness with their pre made Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans the minute they get their discs into the tray come the opening night of the City.
Maxis sort of did this with their character creator for Spore in order to fill their game's galaxy with user content before it launched. I would imagine that would be fun for everyone fussing over their look and showing off on the forums before the game launches. Probably never happen but that might be an interesting demo idea for future developers of role play games.

Make it 'appen (fallen) cappin!

2 Repliesthe customization really isn't that... in depth right now so that would be kinda pointless
-
You mean like Saints Row's Initiation/Inaugeration Stations? Hell yeah, why not?
-
Wish they would.

3 RepliesDidn't they hint at showing character customization at GDC?

Imagine Bungie using some of the Character creations as NPC.

2 RepliesSpore was dope.

Absolutely. Customization is one of the most important things, imo. I'd love a chance to connect to my character before the game's released. Good tease and all that.

Edited by blitz2424: 1/17/2014 4:05:08 AMdefinitely great idea!

MEGA BUMP!
-
Heck yeah. i see were your heading buddy :3

All for it, definitely awesome. It would let me spend as much time as possible creating my character before the game so I could jump right in the game when it comes out.
-
Talk about a way to ruin first-day customization excitement.
-
I think this would be a cool idea, and maybe remotely easy to pull off. I think bungie mentioned something about using your bungie.net account for the game, kinda like what EA does. So they could release a demo on the marketplaces for the consoles, or maybe even on this site, which could be sort of a pre alpha character creation and link this character to your account. then when the game comes you could just type in you're account and password and immediately start the game.
-
This is a great idea, I would personally love to customize my character before hand so can jump right in the action and I think it would be much easier to customize on something like a tablet or smartphone then in game at the beginning of the game, which I think slows down the initial experience.

this would be a great idea

5 RepliesIt would be really awesome if they did what Dust has done. Create an app on your phone that let's you customize, gear up, and skill up your character. So when you get home, your ready to play.

Sounds like a great idea. I have to force myself not to rush through the character creation part of games because I'm so excited to start killing stuff. If I can already have my character created or at least know all the options I'm going to choose our will make that first hour or so a lot easier. The beta will help me with this assuming not to much changed from beta to launch
-
This is a great idea but it may be too early at the moment. However later down the line before the full launch would be fantastic

1 ReplyLike Saints Row 3 Initiation Station.

They should

This!

Maybe everyone who participates in the beta should get it early for the full game?

I know this post is from May but for the people responding. Doesn't the beta cover this?
