I believe the Sapphire organism may be the mechanism by which the Flood expels pretentiousness en masse. For years we've observed surprisingly low amounts of such prickery in the Flood proper. In the past, this was always attributed to mental deficiency and the valuing of ignorance, but recent events have made it abundantly clear the Elites can no longer guarantee our safety. A hierarch is dead, Commander Shepard, and we may never know what the numbers mean.

Don't bother asking me what I was on when I wrote this; I have no idea.

Who ever necrobumped this is an asshole.

If by extension you mean ugly mole, then yes.

I remain confused.

The 2 ways I've heard Sapphire described are:
B.Net's biggest circle jerk and as a Pokemon game.
6 Replieslolno, Sapphire hates us and thinks they're better than us, so they made a clubhouse that only the best of the best dick riders can join

I dunno. I treat it, and every other private group, as such. Each private group is just a collection of people and topics that all follow a similar mindset. These topics and mindsets are available on the Flood, but its like drinking orange juice compared to jumping in a vat of the stuff. If you want the full dose on a particular subject you just go to the group rather than wait on someone to post it on the mains. That being said, it doesn't really make that big of a difference to me, as I've regulated myself to a set amount of serious posts a day. Mainly to keep myself from being drawn into pointless arguments as circular logic is favored method of debate here. After that quota is met my posts become silly and nonsensical for the remainder and any relevant discussion I might have is turned into amusing images and witty quips depending on the situation. Also, frumpy buttroast.

What's a sap for hire?

Isn't sapphire that group that was founded by that girl who flew to America to have sex with that guy?
-
Pretty much.

I thought Sapphire was Mr. Bungie.net 2012.

Edited by Jaaake AU: 5/6/2013 12:11:37 PMI'm surprised that people still even consider Sapphire relevant. I thought after all Harlol's bitching about the site update that they'd finally just leave offsite

I'd say so. I've spent my fair share of time over there and, just like The Flood, there are some really cool guys and some not so cool guys. I wouldn't say they're any more or less intelligent, but a lot of the crap like trolls and spammers and flamebaiting arseholes are absent.

7 RepliesIt is a vacuum for all that is pretentious and elitist about the Flood. Throw in some pseudo-intellectual discussion and armchair activism. Mix well.
-
2 RepliesI'm sure that once upon a time Sapphire was just a decent group that did decent things, then somewhere along the lines people got pissy at them and they got pissy back, and from there on it's been impossible for an outsider to understand the situation, and impossible for someone who's part of the whole fiasco to give an unbiased opinion.
-
I think Sapphire is really one giant, communal ego that all the members share.
-
6 RepliesI keep forgetting this group even exists until people mention it here. I don't think I even knew of it until 2013. Why is the group important now?
-
2 RepliesThe vast majority of the 200 or so people who post in Sapphire can't stand this place.

i cant.. i cant... wat?

7 RepliesCall me an Elite one more time! I swear to the gods you shall be lashed to death by me!

More like we use reverse psychology to take the people we don't want and throw them into Sapphire.
