I've heard a lot about this game and how amazing it is and it's really tempted me to purchase it. But what do you guys think, should I get it?
I haven't played any Bioshock games before, so will that be an issue? Is there storyline from previous games? I don't really want to play any other Bioshock games so if that's the case I could read summary's or something.
But I really want to hear from some of you guys that have the game and what you think of it.

1 ReplyI want to know this too. Is it worth buying if 1. I value gameplay more than story 2. I already have the ending and major plot points spoiled for me?
-
Get it OP. Get it ASAP.
-
I would suggest simply renting it or borrowing it from a friend. It was a good game, but I intended to sell it back. My purchase of the season pass for its future DLC is the only reason why I still have it.

Rent it. the game is a lot of things, but it's not what everyone says it is (it's not the embodiment of pure evil, and it's not god's gift to gaming) Personally, i like it because it has a great amount of mystery to it, no not the actual plot (if you've seen/read any story based around time travel and parallel universes, then you already know infinite's plot). The mystery is figuring out why infinite ended up like it did, executive meddling? a lack of pre production? budget cuts? internal problems? too many cooks in the kitchen? too many foodstuffs in the kitchen? I could go on. tldr; it's average and it shows, unless you: A. expect all video games to have no plot, so any amount makes it GOTY B. have Stockholm syndrome from wanting this game to be so good C. are delusional

Short answer: Yes Long answer: This game is the best I have ever played and the story is so intriguing that I could not put it down.

Edited by SergeantFlood: 4/8/2013 2:46:46 AMYes. It's goty material and as others have posted, it doesn't require much experience with the other Bioshock games.
-
It doesn't require any past experience with any of the BioShock games, although you might find the game more enjoyable if you do have that experience. Still, get it. Get it now.
-
/v/ hates it, so it's a definite yes from the sane community of gamers.
-
This is literally one of the best games of all time. Don't miss out.
-
It is surely one of the best games to come out this decade. You should definitely give it a try. It's an amazing experience all the way through, from start to finish. Everything in the game is sublime. You won't play a game this good in a long time.
-
You should get it. You don't need to know anything about the first two (like me), but there is a part that is a nod at the first two.
-
Yes it is worth every penny. It's damn amazing and the ending sticks in your head several days after you play it. It's the kind of ending that has "infinite" possibilities.
-
No you should get CoD instead
-
1 ReplyThere is a connection to the first two games, but you don't really need to know the story of them.

Edited by Verachi: 4/7/2013 10:44:48 PMI hate Bioshocks gameplay but the story is -blam!-ing awesome. I don't have infinite but I will get it later on.
-
Everyone who thinks themselves a gamer should play Bioshock Infininite. I would go as far to argue to push it on those who don't even play games. It truly is a masterpiece in its story, characters and graphics.
-
You will need no knowledge at all of the other Bioshock games. Infinite is very much its own thing. I'd highly recommend it.
