Warhammer 40k universe: what does the 40k stand for?
I always thought that there were 40.000 space marines because it's called Warhammer 40K.
Or it could be the year 40.000 but that seems ridiculous because i think that in the year 40.000 we will be far more advanced.

1 Reply40,000 for the 41st Millennium. And Humanity was really advanced, but human society collapsed and we lost a lot of information, and if you actually look at Warhammer 40k beyond the surface, it is extremely advanced.
