Information is subject to change. Enjoy. Lore It is 700 years from present day. The Golden Age of humanity was at it’s highest. Civilization has expanded to other planets. A strange alien ship appeared in the sky above Earth, the Traveler. The humans were attacked losing everything but one city, the one where the Traveler appeared to protect. The Traveler made its last stand above the city, and its energy is nearly depleted. You are a knight that draws powers from this mystical sphere. This is where our journey begins. Game Facts 1) Destiny is social at the core. 2) Destiny is a shared world FPS. A) It might have some RPG elements inside it such as loot, perks, etc. B) This will not be a RPG heavy game for Bungie Employees have laughed about calling it a MMORPG, so this is not a MMORPG. C) ADS system is confirmed. D) 3rd person point of view is accessible in non PvP areas. 3) Destiny will have factions. A) As of now there has only been 5 factions seen B) Seven Seraphs, FWC, New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, and Osiris. C) These factions will most likely battle and compete in competitive means to become the top faction. D) Hopefully they will team up together to take on aliens. E) Each has own political or religious view. 4) To play Destiny you have to be connected to online. 5) Destiny will have major customization. A) Gun customization B) Player Customization Armor, colors, faction emblem. (Ship customization?) 6) There will be at least three classes. (Human only) A) Warlock B) Hunter C) Titian 7) There will be interplanetary travel. A) Earth, Mars, Venus, Moon (so far) 8) Destiny is said to rival the lore depth of Star Wars. A) They have had 5 years already so it should be good. 9) The game will be a living game and will always be changing even when you are not playing it. A) Dynamic time of day effects will be in Destiny B) Player progression. 10) Loading screens will almost be nonexistent in this game if not gone all together. 11) Vastly different gameplay areas will appear. A) Multiple alien races will appear in this new universe. B) Open world gameplay will be used. C) Dungeons D) Raids E) Multiple planets 12) Bungie is now partnered with Activision for Destiny. This means Destiny will be mad for Xbox systems and Playstation systems. Bungie is the main developer and Activision is only the publisher. A) PS4 and Xbox exclusive DLC (not a big deal) 13) Bungie will be using iPhone apps to connect with the player in this living world. A) This app is “Bungie Mobile”. Speculations Moving on to the speculations I have made. I will start with this quote. “With ODST with Reach with ways we haven’t even revealed yet we absolutely learned important things from all of those games.” - Joseph Staten Now with interplanetary travel confirmed wouldn’t people want to drive their own start craft? Think back to Reach and the space fight scene and how popular it was. Now if Bungie worked on this since ODST and even put easter eggs in the game of Destiny, then they would do the same in Reach. With a practical reason for space flight why not do that? That is always Bungie’s way to meet and supersede all expectations and remain silent as it all comes together. This will possibly be a large open world game with possible PvP areas.
