Destiny is projected to last 10 years, how I believe that will work.

So we hear the mention of a "10 year experience" in the new ViDoc. This is interesting, as we really have only recently been able to accomplish such a promise. 10 Years ago we looked back on the year 2002 and realized that only 2 years before things were drastically different in the way we network. While we have had several great improvements since 2011, it's really the same setup we're used to: Most people have DSL 3mbps or better, and the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms have been around for some time now. This leads me to wonder what Bungie has planned for this promise of 10 years... I want to believe that they will support the development of a world we control for 10 years, but I figure it's a good solid mix of control and freedom, whereas they control major parts of the game while we control day to day things. They suggested real time events will happen often, as well as events that only happen once - making every session special. This is amazing, it really will delve us into this world, which leads me to another question... So, with the new amazing lighting engine they are excited to show us, I figure day/night cycles are going to be something of truth. Wow, 10 years of day and night cycles, it's starting to look like this game is running parallel to our world! This looks promising, and perhaps... perhaps the first game to ever immerse the player this deeply. But then again, different time zones and such may be a problem, as well as connectivity and localization issues. I see potential for both fatal flaws and major successes here. And finally, how do you keep a game running for 10 years? Well, look at the competitors: WoW has ran for a very long time now, and that would be due to the never-ending supply or new content - in the form of patches, content updates, and full on expansions. The Halo series has been around for quite some time too, but it carried many other games, and within those contained map packs. The only real thing I can think of is either expansions (Which would make sense, how else can they support the costs of running this platform for 10 years besides either expansions or micro transactions), or sequels, which doesn't sound likely, as it breaks the environment's history and flow. What do you all think? How will this be going on for so long? I'm super excited, it's the first of it's kind, really... Bungie might be opening the biggest door in gaming to date.
