Good. Thank you guys, it is enough information. Will wait for contact from Bungie, thank you for all fors and against.
As I said we are small indie studio, and this situation could make a big mess for publishers, developers and others.

So you delete the links from the OP, also if this were a legit complaint why would you bring it up now? Those leaks happened in November, you sure are slow aren't you? Now to add salt to the wound your write up of the background of your game is nauseating, don't want to read your story at all at this point. Also, you say you are making a big deal out of this for the "consumer". So that this doesn't affect us, well your game is coming out on android and iOS, while Destiny is coming to consoles and and PC. This will have no affect whatsoever, if I even play phone game its for a day or so stint at most and then I forget about them. Also, Hardcore PvP where you may lose items if you die? Runescape should sue you if we are going along with your standards. This is a publicity stunt at most, no one here would have heard of your game otherwise. Why not do something actually creative besides venturing into the mobile "MMO" genre. Take a look at Krillbite studios, that is a indie game studio I respect, especially their new IP "Among the Sleep". TL;DR GTFO

I want so badly to say this is a troll, it has been show multiple times Bungie has had this idea since 2009. Your continued response to these claims is relinking articles from your OP and making sarcastic remarks on it being "hilarious". Now, you make claims that you have emails from roughly two years ago to publishers, good for you. Since Bungie has been working with this since at least 2009, accredited to their eater egg in ODST, which when found they exclaimed "Someone finally found it!". Theyve been waiting for this for a very long time to break away from microsoft and work on this. Noww with that assumption I guarentee you that they have evidence that their game has been in development way before your studio and game even came together. Thank you and good day, sir.
we are small indie studio, and this situation could make a big mess for publishers, developers and others.
I hope your studio fails and goes bankrupt. We do not need more idiots suing everyone. *cough*Bethesda*cough* You're a fraud!

This may or may not be related. The picture is from the ending of Marathon: Infinity (1996). The word destiny does not belong to you.
-
Discussing the similarities and asking the Bungie fan community if we think Bungie has committed plagiarism is an extraordinarily bad idea on multiple levels. You've pretty much guaranteed yourself a difficult, if not hostile environment by coming here with your concerns, and it's not terribly smart from a legal perspective either. I think following Recon Number 54's advice and taking this discussion out of the forums would be a wise decision for all parties concerned. I personally don't care for how you have squarely placed Bungie's fan community between you, your allegations, and Bungie. With a little more research and some discussion with Bungie, I'm sure you guys will get this sorted out. Peace out.

Are you seriously going to bitch about them having a similar logo and the word "Destiny" in the title of the game!? The above picture is from Halo 3 ODST which was released more than 4 -blam!-ing years ago! And that they would have stolen your story, it's a -blam!-ing sci-fi of course there will be aliens in it. And one more thing about the logo, it's the title with a planet in the background. How original!

Lol just no. Not even close actually.

Edited by Al-B-Querky: 2/14/2013 7:00:14 PMAre any of you connected to Bungie in any way? Because if you aren't then it's all just a big coincidence if you claim to have so many similarities. You're just going to have to deal with it. You didn't know (probably) about Bungie's project when you guys started and they didn't know about yours, so it's all fair use. It doesn't matter how similar the story is, there are plenty of books out with similar stories and they still coincide. The logo design isn't very original on both parts: someone below already pointed out 2001. Sue them if you want, but don't expect things to go your way.

You know what guys, this reminds me of the WarZ development.
-
Get a lawyer and get out
-
No offense but that website design looks like it was knocked up by a 12 year old in about 15 minutes. Also i'm fairly certain that bungie, a juggernaught of a company, stole your ideas if that is what you are claiming.
-
So, you're saying... they copied your game, that isn't out, and has no actual information available, is being copied? And did Dragon's Dogma copy Skyrim?
-
So nobody can make their game title ontop of a planet? And nobody else can have the word destiny within their title? Oh and btw, your game is not going to be anywhere close to Bungie's in terms of quality, story, or gameplay. Please stop trying to advertize your game here, cause it is rather annoying.

Edited by Spartan Ken 15: 2/14/2013 6:22:24 PMI am sure both your game and Bungie's game are vastly different. Bungie did not copy you and to try and say that is ridiculous. Regardless Bungie has had to project in production much longer than your project began.
-
Please go away we would rather have Bungie's destiny anyway.

Edited by WurstsaIat: 2/14/2013 5:53:04 PMThis sign appears in Halo 3: ODST. The game was completed in May 2009 and released in September 2009. EDIT: Oh and Bungie filed the trademark for Destiny in July 2009.
-
Is this a question or a poor advertisement?
-
With how the OP is just throwing out links to their site in pretty much every post, I'm thinking this is just advertising rather than a genuine copyright concern.
-
I don't think you have anything to worry about, mate. Bungie isn't an evil corporation like, say, Microsoft, Apple, EA, or whatever.
-
Cool it seems that #Bungie steal our story, logo and part of our game name, and setting. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/28/destiny-story-details-concept-art-leaked http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-13-bungie-teases-a-destiny-announcement-on-sunday http://www.3dnews.ru/_imgdata/img/2013/02/13/641542/destiny_splash_PSU.jpg compared to our http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=455998327754557&set=pb.292291377458587.-2207520000.1360863824&type=3&theater http://destinyofares.com/game-guide/the-history-of-ares/

Edited by halo: 2/14/2013 5:40:22 PM1. This game is called Destiny, your game is called Destiny of Ares. Two completely different names, there are tons of games that include the name Destiny in them. Destiny of Shadows is older than both of your games so they should sue you. 2. Destiny was not confirmed as an MMO, nothing at all has been revealed about the mechanics of the game so how are you so quick to assume that they will be? I mean Crysis 2-3 are similar to CoD, should Activision sue Crytek? 3. Tons of Sci-Fi games, maybe Bungie should sue you because Halo came out before your Destiny of Ares game and that game is sic-fi. Boom get the hell out of here your games are nothing alike, be mad cuz your game sucks and your company will fail within the next 2 years.

Edited by MastaSin: 2/14/2013 5:41:28 PMThey look similar but not the same, as long as you're not using logos or iconography that belongs to Bungie, you have no problem, you're not the only ones with a project that resembles to other project. I think you're fine. There are projects out there like yours that are inspired or based on someone else's work, that doesn't mean you're infringing their copyright, it would if you would just copy/paste, now that would be a different story.
