People are funny these days. I remember the good old days when people starved if they didn't get off their asses and work to make a living. I agree, the world has changed. The rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. The answer isn't in taking money away from the rich and giving it to the poor. Its like this, close our doors to international trade for a couple of years. Make people make buy and sell american made products. If we did this the economy would adjust ITSELF.
Henry Fords motto was this. He wanted to make cars his employees could afford. Everyone who worked at ford drove a ford. It was for a reason. It built his brand which allowed him to pay his employees more.
IF WE QUIT BEING LAZY ASSES AND STOP BUYING CHINESE GOODS MADE BY TWELVE YEAR OLDS FOR 2 DOLLARS A MONTH AND START MAKING THE SHIT OURSELVES THEN OUR ECONOMY WILL TURN AROUND!!!!
Simple economics people.

You do know the Chinese make over $2/hour nowadays. Just sayin'. Simple economics.
-
That was an ignorant comment.
-
LOL dis gon' b gud
-
That is a fact brah.

Watch the Walmart documentary. Know why everything at Walmart is cheaper? Because they are paying 2 bucks an hour to Chinese workers who work like 12 hours a day.

Edited by A Good Troll: 2/2/2013 2:56:19 AMWhich is true. But don't kid yourself, it isn't just Wal-Mart that sells Chinese goods, so does everyone else. Wal-Mart sells what consumers want and demand. But wages have been growing substantially in China. That is part of the affects of globalization and (relatively) free trade. That is why you've seen manufacturing in some sectors start to drift back to America. One of the highest growth areas in jobs in the US since the recession has been manufacturing.
-
Well it's good to see work coming back to the US.

Edited by Mad Max: 2/2/2013 12:07:27 AMWas that supposed to be in response to XVII? Because your post supports what A Good Troll was saying...
-
I wasn't going against what he said. It was in support of his comment. It's callled "The high cost low price" or something like that.
-
Ok, just checking. When there's a lot of back-and-forth, I assume the comment in response is one of opposition. My bad.

[/quote]I'll start doing that when the American version costs the same as the Chinese version. I'll start buying American cars when they're just as good as Japanese.

Edited by chickenlittle: 2/1/2013 11:40:32 PMJobs used to be a lot more abundant than they are now. Manufacturing has shifted both to automation and lower-wage nations that the majority of those jobs are gone for good. It isn't a matter of "getting off your lazy ass", the jobs simply aren't there anymore. That, and changes in the way people and corporations are taxed have increased the wealth disparity immensely. It really is necessary for wealth disparity to be small for a stable society to exist.

Edited by Arky: 2/1/2013 11:34:47 PMIt's not really consumers who buy China made products, it's more of companies who outsource their factories to get around wage limits and child labor laws.

I agree completely. This country will die before anyone picks up a hammer and gun to save it. What a shame. There are a lot of good men rolling in their graves in Normandy these days.
-
this is true, but no one is going to want to admit it. we rely WAY TOO MUCH on china
