Why? employers everywhere are cutting hours so that they need not pay for employees healthcare, if you do get the opportunity to decline you end up having to pay fines for not having health care by the end of the year. I understand healthcare is important but millions of people may rely on lower paying jobs to sustain themselves, if you're barely able to make it on $10 an hour at 40 hours a week now, I highly doubt you'll be able to do it at 25 to 30.

My dad's medical spending account got cut in half ($5,000 to $2,500) and his tax withholding went up $100 the first paycheck of the year. So, his taxes are now sucking an extra $200/month or $2,400 a year and he only has half of what he have had in the past withheld for medical expenses.
