I mean cmon theres no reason not to but somehow people have somehow found a way to hate a legendary warrior who isnt human and who can probably beat the living crap out of MC. so why?

he looked like a sped. if im gonna play as an elite, make him look cool like the the ultra elites or golden elites. dont put him in a retardsvillesuspenderstrapshunchbackgaggletoothemoelite wannabe suit. normally i never care about how my character looks, and and in games with character designing options i usually strive to create characters that look absolutely retarded, but when i saw the arbitor, it just out retarded anything i could have done
Posted by: AndyPolley
Posted by: shane9999100 Personally, I think the chief is cool, but i like the Arbiters story way more, so much more detail and emotion in it.
I agree. I felt there was more potential depth there and perhaps part of why they did not continue this line in Halo 3 is because they may be planning a separate game/series involving this story. It is unlikely as it would be fairly two-dimensional (without the flood complicating things), but i am no Halo lore expert; so maybe there are directions to go of which I am currently unaware.
When in doubt, prequel!

i prefer the arbiter (as well as all elites) over the spartens most ppl like mc cuz hes a sparten witch most ppl play as ps. i have bad spelling pss. elites pwn

Why did people hate playing as Raiden in MSG2? (Aside from his obvious lack of MAN.) He wasn't Solid Snake, and the Arbiter isn't Master Chief. D:

Arby is way awesomer (not real word) than mc. And yes he could tear the living -blam!- out of master chief. o yea seargent johnson could also tear the living -blam!- out of master chief [Edited on 11.06.2007 9:30 AM PST]

I didnt hate it at all... I thought it was cool being with a pack of Elites, turning invise on (not a good invise though) and sneaking into the objective. It was also nice to see the political ramifacations the Covenant had going on within. Yes why would people hate it soooo much. The only thing that is different is the Arbiters hand. You could not see yourself. The gameplay was spot on. The Arbiters act was good to me. :)

Mainly because his feet sounded like hooves. -clop- -clop--clop- It drove me crazy

Flood...*shivers*

i didnt have an issue with it. i do play as an elite online so how could i complain but i think it would have been better to have a campaign for each of them that way it doesnt force people to play as the arbiter because i know how much some people hate the elites. i actually heard this was going to be the case for h3 by alot of people but sadly it is not.
-
simple: They know he is better then the chief in many ways, but the chief was the hero of the first game, so you have to love him more and hate any new main characters that are introduced. They could have let you play as johnson and everyone would hate him for "stealing the chiefs spotlight", its jsut a matter of them liking the chief more. Personally, I think the chief is cool, but i like the Arbiters story way more, so much more detail and emotion in it.

I hate playing as arbiter because. 1) I hate that armor it so medievel looking. Brutes could kill him easily just get a strong magnet and point it at him haha! I think I just said it all there /\

I just hated the H2 campaign. It had nothing to do with playing as the Arbiter. But "why" is a good question, like why is this in the H3 forum?

Not many people use him because the elites have larger bodies, witch makes them easier to spot and hit. This is a question for Halo 2, it goes in the : Halo 2 Forum.

Three reasons, in descending importance. -Swapping player characters destroys immersion, continuity and the connection the player feels with his avatar in the game. -People don’t want to play as the secondary protagonist who came late to the party. They want to play as the main one. -People can’t really be expected to identify with the sudden ally who previously embodied everything the player was supposed to be against in the game.
Posted by: Armagaiden I think because the majority of the people that play Halo are snivelling little pre-pubescent kids or teenagers who have no concept of "Grey" concepts of ethics and morality when it comes to opposing forces, they're still in the mentality of Black and white, good vs evil, GI Joe vs Cobra, which is just simply not reality in most cases. So when you have a game that suddenly reverses the role and shows the culture and motivations behind mass genocide, they feel like they're playing the Devil, even when Halo didn't even have you play as the Arbiter killing USNC, as people pointed out, he only fights other covenant and flood, because they knew the fallout from the majority of the simpletons that play halo would be astronimical if they had you killing Humans and Marines. If any of these people had played RTS games the likes of WarCraft, StarCraft, and C&C, they'd probably have a more refined taste and actually enjoy seeing the multitude of sides that the hell of war encompasses,
Yay! Starcraft haha
Posted by: IceTimberWolf
Posted by: Reclaimer01 I don't like playing him because Master Chief is way cooler than some alien could ever be.
k, can i have an answer that doesnt have 'noob' written all over it
Can i have a post that doesn't have "Stuck up -blam!-" all over it?

I don't mind playing as him (or the other elites) since I like using the Carbine and you start off with Plama 'nades. :)

The arbiter has both a split chin and a squid face and should have been purged along with the rest of his species.
Thank you 'Mr. I didnt get spanked when i was young' ill mention that the next time i see you online
Ah, that makes me laugh. Well alright Mr.Alien Fanboy, I think a healthy rivalry between elites and spartans is good for the game, I'd love to do some team Elites Vs Spartans sometime. Its all in good fun to favour one player model over the other and can lead to some interesting ideas for custom games.
Thx man, ill look forward to that when i am finally able to play halo3
Posted by: MLG Cheehwawa His levels are horrible. His armor sucks. His voice doesn't sound alien-like. He has a purple HUD. Your legs pop up and obstruct your view when you crouch jump. Elites look hilarious when they crouch walk.
His levels kinda sucked even though it was just flood and you didnt get to kill any humans, His armor is just as good (Shiny) if not better than MC's, What's wrong with purple would you prefer pink?, yes legs do that, i suppose they look kinda funny in a weird way........
