•
Posted by: OneBigBastard I can't begin to express what a HUGE dissapointment (and frankly, failure) it would be for Microsoft and Bungie if H3 ships without the ability for online co-op. Online Co-op is practically a standard feature on FPS games on the 360; for H3 to not have that ability would be an embarassing failure, in my view. Cries of "our AI is extra complicated" or whatever is a hollow excuse. I'm confident the game will be great in every other respect, but I, for one, just can't accept any excuse were it to ship without online Co-op. How about less work on movies, comic books, graphic novels, figurines, t-shirts, helmets, RTS versions of the game, Halo-themed controllers, consoles, MP3 players and all that other stuff and more work on the game? Hell, I'd even give up the ability to share films of my games in exhange for the ability to share the campaign portion (remember, Bungie, the "most important" part of the game?) of the game itself with others, in real-time.
I kinda agree, too many other things going on right now, even if you guys aren't working on them directly, you are probably being sent all around the globe to talk about these new things, as well as Halo 3 itself, what with all the mag. companies trying to pry game info out of you, so every time you guys have to travel and talk about the game and all the other Halo related things going on, the actual game is down a few workers to help move it along. I enjoy that you guys reach out to everyone, you do it better than any other company I've seen, but what are you all gonna do after this game is over? If you guys are trying to do all this stuff at the same time so you can have a nice long break afterwards, I could understand, you guys have certainly earned it. But PLEASE, stop dabbing into other things for the next two months and work on the online co-op. I know the AI might chug the gameplay over live, but many other games have this option, and for Halo to not have it just wouldn't make sense. I'm not saying you have to follow a trend, I'm just saying for a game as big as this, and it being the last of the trilogy, let online buddies fight alongside one another in what will be a great game. And those of you saying no don't worry about it, they can just fix that later, we'll see how you feel when all your best friends are at other colleges, and you can't play over live with them, so don't even get me started you 14-yr-olds who need their mother to drive them to their friends house.
