  • Now that things have settled down I'll post my feedback. What I did not like is a short list. I did not like having to hit Dpad to talk. Elsewhere somebody suggested using Dpad for grenade selection and LB for talk. That was a very good idea IMO. Really hated the sound made when initiating talk and when VOX deactivates. Ouch! Internet play is still subject to network manipulation, mostly throttling or some sort. Can't really see any fix for that short of embedding sync time code in each data packet like is done with Irig or some other bus-sync tech. While HighGround was a pretty cool map, in TS games he who controls the beach controls the game. Or at least I was never in a TS game where the winner did not have beach end control. Just something to think about. While I liked that the fusion pistol effect on mechanicals and electronics was brought back from its Marathon incarnations, I think it was a bit overdone. And if its fusion doing it, then why does not all fusion do it? (I know, I'm getting pendantic so I'll quit) What I like is a longer list, so I'll shorten it by saying this: Going back to Halo2 match making was so painful after the H3 beta I just don't do it. I did not find the warthog harder to kill, but then I was a Laser whore. I really liked that the snipers did NOT have the huge auto-aim. I was actually a better sniper without it. (must be all that GRAW and RS:V I play) The Spartan Laser is the coolest new weapon. Great job. However, there is no real reason it should freeze the player when it fires. (an effect I noticed) I really liked that there were no button combo's and combo glitches. I liked getting to specify connection as the priority in matchmaking. It kept me from getting owned by lag rather than just owned. Liked all the settings that can be tweaked for custom games. Randomness. Never used the SMG's or the plasma rifle beyond just trying them as they did not seem very effective compared to other weapons. I was killed way more by teammates placement of trip mines than enemies. Not sure how usable the banshee will be with the limited down angle. It got way more useful once I figured the FRC was back in it. Still, its not the ground support element of yore. The sound of the chain gun in the hog had no "directioness" when doing the far away sound. The first few times I head it I thought it was a problem with somebody's mic. Needs doppler and reverb. In a canyon like Valhalla, the sniper (human) needs reverb ala Freemont Street in RS:V. It would be cool (for a while). I'm sure thats enough. Thanks for the beta.
