In the end of Halo: Reach, behind noble 6's broken helmet, you are able to see MC's side of the ship. Therefore proving that MC did find a way back into the Milkyway Galaxy and landed on Reach. So I hypothesize that Halo 4 will take place on Reach.

IMPSSOIBLE the portal could just be leading to a different spot in the galaxy if he was in the marathon universe bungie would be making halo 4 not 343 and plus if hes fighting "marathon people" 343 doesnt have rights to that all of you guys who think its in marathon universe are idiots halo is in the milky way just way into the future cuz thers earth and in halo ce campaign on TaR(truth and reconcealiation) and if bungie is making a new marathon they can only have halo easter eggs or they will get sued either way impossible

idk about this, yes when halo 3 came out bungie did share it with microsoft, and as you can see, marathon gestures were added in the game such as the marathon logo, and the security Armour, (no derp intented) but who knows? maybe bungie wanted to just put a little something more of them into the game. Bungie has lots of secrets but majority of the time they want you to wonder and ponder over these events so that maybe each person can imagine what really happened. Well you have to give the guy credit, for making,the most ridiculous theory I've ever heard. I personally think that Master Chief arrives at a forerunne world and is attacked. Either that or remnants prehistoric humanity that didn't get deevolved after the human-forerunner war. Whichever it is, I highly doubt that MC is still in our galaxy, there probably wouldn't have been many planets that the war didn't involve, especially if it was as technologically advanced as whatever race that inhabits that planet.

here is what ends this theory: halo is under microsoft's control now marathon is still owned by bungie alone. marathon (owned by bungie) will not show up in halo (now owned by microsoft) ...also your argument against chief traveling back in time isn't a strong one: master chief would not be able to stop the flood. No one can stop the flood unless they obliterate every speck of their existence from every part of the galaxy.
