As pertaining to your other questions, all of is clearly stated in the first halo 2 mission, and the Halo 2 manual. As time went on, many died due to the augmentation process or other "missions". The idea came from Dr. Catherine Halsley, who original selected the children to be tested apon. Spartan I's were not spartan super soldiers like the master chief. For all of you that do know know here is a brief history lesson for you. The Spartans were a group of 300 some soldiers who fought against thousands of Persians. My Ebgames store manager told me that it would come with all of the games of Crackdown until a certain date. That date however he is unaware of. And yes, I beleve that Bungie will offer some of you non US people a contest, that isn't biased towards the USA/Canada.
