The most logical use for the "X" button: (w/ diagram)
Press "X" for picnic table manouver.
Imagine it: An elite is rushing the Chief, energy sword blazing in the night. The Chief, clip empty, slips out of cover and charges the Elite. At the last second, as the ELite roars his challenge, the Chief leaps into the air, and turn into a picnic table!
The manouver is of such epic proportions, the Elite's brain undergoes nuclear fission on the spot, boiling his flesh away, before disapearing in a blinding flash of white.

This could be useful for people climbing and launching in multiplayer. And for all of you who can't notice how this relates to everything Halo. You obviously haven't bashed your head up against a wall hundreds of times even if there's a hole in it. While playing Halo at the same time humping a picnic table on fire naked. That's how I know.
