is speaking spanish bad??
I would like to know why so many people throw a hizzy fit when they hear anyone speaking anything other than English on a room before the game starts, given though, this only happens on social games, when the games are ranked you can't hear the other team until the end of the game, but regardless, i find it childish for gamers to go buck wild, insult you automatically think you're Mexican when you enter a room speaking in Spanish (nothing wrong with Mexicans) its just that i'm from another country not remotely related to it, i find it hard to believe that at this day and age we still have people ( young kids at that) that are throwing racial comments out in the air, barely even knowing what some of the terms mean.
At the end of the day what matters is your performance in the game, not your country of birth and the language you speak, the games are scored based on how many people you killed and how many times you died, is funny how fast people are to talk trash, but its funnier how much faster it is for them to leave when they are loosing the game or have lost the game for that matter, stay and chat, let me know how embarrassed you are that after all the cr*p you said, you got your *ss handed to you in a game, not saying i'm a great player, i just enjoy the game, obviously i'm better than some people and some people are better than me, but that's just the way life goes.
This is not a request for all you trash talkers to apologize, i could care less about that, i'm one of the biggest trash talkers out there, and i talk trash regardless of winning or loosing, but i also give credit where credit is due, i dont throw a racial slur and leave the room just because i got beat by someone whose language i dont understand, i believe the gaming community should be over this by now, its a stupid issue and should be approached more maturely. i've been sent so mush negative feedback from guys that got whooped after talking trash, goes to show you the maturity.
to my other foreign language speakers out there, keep on handing out those *ss whoopings, because that's the only way you can retaliate the negative comments.

I think spanish is a beautiful language. ps to the guy who was talking about MY LANGUAGE option. so if my xbox is in french and I set it to "my language" and I fall upon a moron like you, I would have the right to tell you to STFU and speak french ? that must be the most stupid point of view I have ever seen. from what i have observed, most of the time it's the OPPOSITE team that will make fun of you.. while in pre-game lobby you speak with your buddies in your language only to have the other team of english-speaking ppl totally interrupt the convo with jibberish trying to immitate the way you speak.

I understand spanish, french, japanese, and english to know when they're talking crap. I don't say anything until they start tossing insults, and then I give them feedback and a retort in their own language. More often than not they spaz out. Nothing wrong with speaking your own language, but be prepared to take what you dish out from time to time.

Spanish is fine, I just don't like when i get matched up with me and 3 spanish speakers and it's the other way around, Plus it's annoying when your getting yelled at and you have no clue wtf there asking you to do. If they start doing that then i start Speacking Jibberish to tell them I don't give a -blam!-s=.

Thing is, america(and canadian and british trade triangle) does call the shots for the world economy when you really get down to it. The sheer gross amounts of product being shipped is staggering and, unfortunatly, without us americans, alot of places would find a nice chunk of their economy gone. But the next language that should be studied most would be mandarin just because there are a few people here and there who speak it. But this has been the case ever since kingdoms and empires. Once, Spanish was [b]the[/b] language to know, so was french, then the british came around and owned everyone at sea and we americans have taken the mantle of, well, being the standard after World War II. its common sense to speak the economically dominant country's language for ease of trade. One of my friends that went to Germany pretty much said you dont even need to know german, about 2/3 of the population knows english already, I assume this is the case with other developed countries, but I probably would only go to france or italy because of knowing the languages so whatevs. uhhh...wierd..dammit..[/rant]

Its also so much fun to get made fun of while i speak in french only to reply to them in english... again people are so good at generalising. maybe the people who speak a different language could actually communicate in english if "you" weren't such an ignorant prick. just a thought. I live in the United States, Kansas to be more specific. I was born here, I have lived here my whole life. I speak Spanish. I also speak a little bit of Italian and Japanese and German, and thanks to working at McDonald's when I was 16, can count to five in Urdu. I have spoken Spanish in game before, and it is actually funny when you get called "a stupid Mexican" or something of the such. People are so ignorant. 1) I'm from freaking Kansas, not Mexico. 2) Even if I was from Mexico, shut your lazy 12-year-old ass up and realize that there are other people in the world 3) Come to Kansas so I can beat your ass for being ignorant. She did not speak anything but English in front of English-speaking house guests, and expected the same from her children--to whom she spoke mostly English even when nobody else was present. Her philosophy for her kids' speech was, in fact, was "You live in America, you speak English." It's nothing but rude and unconstructive to speak anything but English in a primarily English-language environment, such as Xbox Live (unless you're set to only match your own language). Virtually every developed country in the world has students mandatorily learn English in school now. There is NO excuse for alienating other users by speaking in any other language.
