To: Broken Sniper, Hayabusa Overuse, Mauler, Bad Maps, Etc Anti-Anti Halo 3

Folks, there is a difference between not liking something and something being bad /poorly designed and I think you (complainers) all should learn this difference. I really don't understand why so many people are complaining? I don't recall seeing this much complaining even with Halo 2 and honestly, I think Halo 3 was a much better game. I was a bit disappointed with Halo 2. Was it because there was so much hype that people inadvertently had such high expectations that no game designer could ever meet? Some arguments I'm going to pull apart. The Sniper Rifle - So many people complain about the sniper rifle because of it's longer delay. It's quite noticeable, however, one thing is for certain, it weeds out the not-so-good snipers from the excellent snipers. Instead of being able to pull the trigger like a mad man and pump all 4 bullets out faster than you can say Ann Hesch, the delay actually makes you have to take aim and time your shots better. It's not so bad that if you miss once that it's game over, but it makes you think about it more rather than acting like a kid on a sugar high. All I say is this, adapt. I did. I think I am a good sniper, better than most, not the best, hell I played someone last night who had a killer eye and worked me. But I am not going to complain about the sniper, it's not broken. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just not the same as Halo 2's. In fact, I prefer the minuet delay anyway, as no person who can't snipe worth crap can't kill me easily by shooting me a second or third time because they missed the initial headshot. Needler - Why are so many people complaining? It's improved to the point that you actually WANT to pick it up (not everyone but I will). The needler in Halo was good, it broke in Halo 2 and I felt, was completely useless unless there was nothing else to grab. Now people are trying to call it a power house weapon? Why? It takes nearly a full round of needles to kill someone. I could kill 2-4 players with a Battle Rifle before reloading, so why doesn't anyone else claim the BR to be a "powerhouse weapon". It makes no sense. Addition of Items to the Game - Again why complain? Someone previously posted how he thought it was stupid that you have to worry about items in the game now... Here's your solution: Don't pick them up. Then you don't have to worry about them right? I think it adds to the complexity of the game, it doesn't take away from the simplistic kill or be killed nature of the game by any means, but it adds a little trick up your sleeve and gives you a bit more of a challenge. God forbid you actually have to start THINKING about what you're doing in the game in order to win right? Someone drops a radar jammer, why complain? Learn how to not rely on the radar to kill people. And seriously, there were 3 elements in Halo and Halo 2 to maintain: Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Grenades. They've only added one more element: Items. They really haven't add THAT much more. And I am glad they added the spike grenades because I love to stick people. Pistol - I do have to agree a little on this one. I haven't decided if it's as powerful as the Halo pistol or not, but it sure as hell shoots slower AND has no zoom. What I think would have been a better fix, was to keep the original Halo pistol BUT remove the zoom. That way, it would still be a sought after weapon for close range combat, but you wouldn't have the player across the map sniping you with it like so many did in Halo (myself being one of them. I don't think I ever picked up any other weapon in Halo unless I had to). But I don't use it enough to complain about it. Mauler and Spiker - Again, why are you complaining? Would you rather have only a selection of 3 weapons total in a video game? How fun is that? They are similar but they are not the same. A single Mauler is not as powerful as a shotgun, but dual maulers are. But then you lose the ability to melee, but I think the point originally wasn't to make you wield 2 Mauler's but to add the Mauler to another dual wield configuration. I like the spikers, I think they're cool and adding a plasma rifle along with a spiker can be very deadly. But I'm not a dual wielder, I prefer to keep my melee more optional than having to drop a weapon to melee, but that's me. Do you see me complaining? Nope. None here, I like having options. Someone was complaining about dual wielding - Why? Not many people prefer to dual wield, so what? Are you going to complain because people prefer AR and BR and Carbine over any other weapon? So what? I don't understand where the validity is with this argument. Maps - I honestly think they did a good job on the maps. Some are not better than Halo 2 maps, then again, some maps in Halo 2 were not better than Halo maps. I think it would be an excellent idea if Bungie released map packs which contained Halo 2 maps and Halo maps that were playable in Ranked and Social Matches as well as Custom games. If you don't have the map, it won't be in your list of options during ranked/social searches, if you do, it'll add it to them. And I am sure most people will get the DL maps as they did with Halo 2. I'm not a fan of Valhala, but I have no complaints with it. I just don't like it, doesn't mean it's a bad map. I hated Guardian at first, but that was because I couldn't figure it out right away, now it is my favorite, but I never complained about the map. I just didn't like it at first. AR - Everyone complains people use this too much... umm... you spawn with it maybe? It's like in Halo 2 everyone pretty much spawned with a BR, but I didn't see anyone complain about that. Now, in some case I do think some maps you should spawn with a BR instead of the AR, but maybe some people are just too lazy to pick up different weapon..? Hayabusa Armor - Why oh why do people say this armor is over used? The helmet in particular. Has no one noticed the ungodly amount of people who wear the Rogue helmet? Or the Mark V helmet? Or how about *gasp* the Mark VI helmet? I bet not a single person who has complained about the hayabusa helmet has even stopped to notice, that in the past 10 games, only 4 people have worn the hayabusa, but 15 people wore the rogue, 8 wore the Mark V, 6 wore the Mark VI, and the rest is shared amongst the other styles. Did you ever stop to think that maybe it's not that it's over used, but because it's so distinct from the other helmets that you just happened to notice that one more so than the other helmets? And even then, why are we complaining about it? So you don't like it, good for you, you don't have to wear it. But if I like the helmet, i have every right to wear it. I prefer the rogue helm myself, but i'm not going to complain if someone wants to look like a samurai. And I think the shoulders are sweet, but that is only my opinion. just because my tastes are different from yours doesn't mean I'm going to whine and complain and try to tell you what armor you should or shouldn't wear. I've never seen so many immature gamers out there than I do with Halo. Rainbow Six Vegas, WoW, EQ, has never ever had nearly a fraction the amount of whiners. And whats with this comparing GoW to Halo 3? They're completely different games. First, GoW is more horrific of a game, where Halo takes on a more futuristic feel. How is that comparable? The art styles are different. Does that make one better than the other ? No. It's just you're tastes vary. GoW is a third person shooter, Halo 3 is a first person shooter, ... did someone not notice this? If you like another game, then go play that one, but there is no sense in complaining and looking like a 10 year old coming here and posting about it. I want to reiterate, there is a difference between not liking something and something being bad /poorly designed and I think you (complainers) all should learn this difference. There are many things I 'don't like" about Halo 3, but none of which are 'bad things". I simply don't like them because they are not my preference. The only thing I can point out that I am displeased with is I've noticed the Brute Shot isn't nearly as powerful in multiplayer as it is in campaign, and I wish it were, as I feel I have to dump 1-2 clips into someone to kill them when it should only be 3-4 rounds (they're explosive rounds, it just makes sense). I think most maps have a good sense of balance to them as far as power weapons go, it seems no one side of a map is "top heavy" and most people have a fair chance at a rocket launcher, sword, etc. So many haven't learned to adapt, and lack the skill to control their temper, so the end result is all of us seeing these "blam! halo 3" threads. Which is very sad. Learn to adapt, use your brain and start thinking, just because you can't go on auto pilot anymore and go buck wild trigger happy into a crowd of people and come out the only one alive doesn't mean it's a bad game, it just means you haven't figured out the intricacy of the game yet. Halo 3 is a phenomenal game. I have never played a campaign as much as I have on a mutliplayer-strong game. There are things I like and love and things that I dislike. But by no means do my dislikes equate to a "terrible game". Thank you Bungie. Yea? Well maybe their server where the website is host sucks and it's their problem it's taking so long, not yours. Think about it. networks work both ways, not one way, people need to understand this. data packets are sent and received...

It's just their excuse to find something wrong with the game when really, there's nothing wrong with the game, they're just stuck up, much like you. And I'm not whining, it's constructive. Learn the difference. And the points I do address, I offer a reasonable solution, rather than "whine whine whine" with either a) no solution or b) an unreasonable far-fetched solution. THATS the difference... who's the idiot now?

Before, in halo, you could at least dodge them if you had enough room but now it seems that if you are at the magical distance, there is nothing you can do. Other than that, the needler is a good improvement. You actually can stand your ground with it. Also, it's fun to see people explode in pink fireball :D
You can still dodge it :) Jump up and around like a mad man LOL

 •
Posted by: Half Steppin This is in response to the original post that I don't want to quote because you won't ever get to see what I've said here >< Pistol - Can anyone say most useless gun in the game? It takes 7 headshots from an extremely slow gun to kill. Sure you can dual wield it, but who really does? Not when the BR spawns a lot more now. I want the halo pistol back with no zoom or, at least, the original halo 2 pistol back. And it doesn't have to be dual wieldable, just a rate of fire that makes sense. Someone was complaining about dual wielding - Is an idiot. There is no range dual wieldable combos that are threatening. The only range one I can think of is the pistol which is laughable. Dual wielding is much better in halo 3. Maps - Not until we get a hardcore playlist will I say weather I dislike all the maps. In there current radar heavy states, most maps straight up suck. My biggest complaint however is the spawning system. I've had more enemies spawn behind me on Narrows than any other game I've ever played. I actually have had someone assassinate me the second after they spawned. It just seems that this could use an semi-easy fix. Plus it seems I never spawn remotely close to my teammate. Hayabusa Armor - Who cares about armor? I use the rogue helmet which I see all the time but I don't change it to something unique. Narrows, the Pit, and a number of other maps are very good, but in my opinion, the H1 and H2 maps were a little better, but they may take some time to get used to. I love the bubble shield, but some of the other items are take-em or leave-em. It just feels like somethings missing in this one. [Edited on 10.13.2007 9:55 AM PDT]

 • This is in response to the original post that I don't want to quote because you won't ever get to see what I've said here >< Sniper Rifle - I agree with your point, I like the sniper rifle better in halo 3. If someone who doesn't have any skill with it starts shooting you in the back, you have a chance to get away before the next shot is fired. The new sniper almost requires a headshot everytime to be really effective. Needler - It may just be me but it seems as though at a certain distance, you cannot escape the needles coming at you. Before, in halo, you could at least dodge them if you had enough room but now it seems that if you are at the magical distance, there is nothing you can do. Other than that, the needler is a good improvement. You actually can stand your ground with it. Also, it's fun to see people explode in pink fireball :D Addition of Items to the Game - I personally think this is something even the original halo could have had. It really adds a new aspect to the game because you never know if someone is going to bubble shield at the last second. It makes people think twice before charging a room where someone could have the energy drainer. As for the radar jammer, it is a welcome gift for this radar heavy game. It really helps with those Assault games and even some CTF games. Pistol - Can anyone say most useless gun in the game? It takes 7 headshots from an extremely slow gun to kill. Sure you can dual wield it, but who really does? Not when the BR spawns a lot more now. I want the halo pistol back with no zoom or, at least, the original halo 2 pistol back. I actually have had someone assassinate me the second after they spawned. It just seems that this could use an semi-easy fix. Plus it seems I never spawn remotely close to my teammate in 2v2 or in 2v2v2v2. AR - I'm finding out that this gun is probably the most valuable gun in this game. It's got the range to take out people from medium-medium long range (if you know how to use it) and still is amazing close up. It's not the best in these fields and by no means is it the Halo:CE pistol (favorite gun) but I don't feel like I'm going to get killed if I don't find something else. It's a solid starting gun for most maps. Bigger maps need the BR to start. Hayabusa Armor - Who cares about armor? I use the rogue helmet which I see all the time but I don't change it to something unique. There is nothing unique about any of the helmets when there are 1,000,000+ people online. And to finish my post I will say that while I agree that camping is a legit strategy, the radar is not. I've got nothing against campers, a couple nades usually flush them out but this game could use a gametype with no radar. Halo 3 is not perfect and by no means is any other game. While there are a few things a little odd about it, they just add to the flavor of the game. I didn't like GoW mainly because it's a TPS but that doesn't mean it sucks. It's just not my style. I'm not going to mock people for playing it and I won't 'flame' people who disagree with me. If everyone liked the same things then there wouldn't be any different types of games. Halo 3 doesn't speak for every FPS game out there, it just happens to be one of the most popular. Counter Strike is an awesome game too and has the same size fan base as Halo. I never understood why people complained on these threads. I may not like things about this game but I'm not going to cry about it. It's just a game and I don't have to like everything about it. Just like I don't like the AWP in CS but I still play it and have fun as I will with Halo 3. [Edited on 10.13.2007 9:33 AM PDT]

 •
I'm not too fond of the AR. It's like a super SMG IMO...its a downgrade from Halo2 and brings the game down with it.
So what it's a super SMG, what's the difference? Would you rather start each game wielding a SMG instead? Granted some maps should start with BR's, but I don't see any problem with this at all. Saying we shouldn't start with a half way decent weapon is like asking us to run around with sparklers in our hands and hope for the best. Also, sounds like you'd rather people who have the misfortune at not getting to the better weapons to be disabled retards than actually have a fighting chance at recovering their weapons. But honestly, and I hate to say it, if you're any good, you will figure out another STRATEGY (it still exists) or you'll be skilled enough to overcome your opponent. I have YET to see the over/under powerness of the AR as a starting weapon. People come "blazing their AR", I shoot them in the face with a shotgun or step back out of their range and snipe them. •
I think you misinterpreted the meaning of 'broken' when people initially complained about the Sniper Rifle.
No I didn't. I was responding to the people who were actually complaining about the longer recoil delay, not the latency issue.
Most people who complain about the equipment aren't complaining about the added dimension to them own gameplay (weapons, grenades, equipment)...what they're referring to is that now they have to worry about another person using the damn equipment that ultimately changes the whole game and makes it feel, well, un-halo like.
I don't see how it makes it un-halo like. Just because it wasn't in the first 2 games doesn't make it "un-halo like" for the simple fact, this game is futuristic. You've got a 7 foot tall weapon of mass destruction (MC), who's wearing the most advanced suit of armor ever created, how is it so far fetched that he'd have some of the simplest of devices to use like a radar jammer, flares, bubble shield ,etc. Sure I can see the health re generator, but even then, in the future, who's to say what does and doesn't exist? people are just being nit-picky

But it can help it become the best game it can be. This is why we have forums.
That is not "fixing something" because it was never broken. That is "modifying" something that was already tried and tested. Instead of asking Bungie to modify something about it's game because someone can't adapt, you'd be better off, more intelligent, and more mature to find another work around. So you get owned by the mauler... pick up a shotgun, sword, rocket launcher, or how about this, like I said previously, throw a crap load of grenades? Why make Bungie pile through hundreds of lines of code just to "modify" something that isn't "broken" thus does not need to be "fixed" just because you're too lazy to adapt and learn a different strategy. When facing obstacles in life do you jump over them/go around them or do you ask who ever put the obstacle there in the first place to make it easier for you to get past it? I'd hope your integrity was good enough you'd do it yourself than have someone else do it for you.
Certain weapons need fixing, it's part of the game. If enough people think a weapon is broken, then chances are it's broken. The Carbine? In the beta it was overpowered. We "complained" and Bungie fixed it. The Battle Rifle. The bullets spread too much and when you got hit in the head your HUD would go blue (very annoying.) That was fixed too. Neither of those major issues would have been fixed if Bungie weren't made aware of them. The game needs some tweaking, and it'll get tweaked. Trying to silence the fanbase isn't an adequate way of resolving anything. And the fanbase certainly will not be silenced.
I applaud to that!

 •
Posted by: iambee Being able to drop a bubble shield over your flag so you can stand inside and return it is something you couldn't do in halo 2, and probably should have been able too. What kind of strategy can you employ if you need to return your flag in halo 2. Not too much, you have to stand on it and hope the enemy doesn't know where you are because they can just pick you off with grenades from a distance.
I'm sorry, I didn't get to read anyone elses comments before posting my previous posts, but this one deserves a flame. Jesus Christ kid, who the hell stands on the flag to return it?!? In Halo2, there was no returning the flag...what you had to do was keep the other team from touching it for 15 or so seconds. You're suppose to 'set-up' and get the superior positions, ideally positions where you can use your current weapon best, where you were able to defend the flag without actually standing on top of it. In skirmish games you usaully know where the enemies are going to be coming from, which is their base. if you had a BR, get elevation and pick them off as they try to touch the flag. If you had a Sniper, get back and pick em off...If you have a shotgun...camp by a door that they used right when they spawn. But in no circumstance should you ever attempt to gaurd you flag by standing on top of it. LOL! Standing on the flag is just, im sorry to say, noobish. Period. THE END.

Here's what I said in another post: H3 has toned down alot of things from H2.... one of these things is strategy / tactics / and weapon skill/knowledge.... you no longer need any of these things to win in H3...all you really need now is the AR..if you die all you gotta do is run back to where you died with your AR blazing and kill all the one-shots fighting each other...if you die..rinse and repeat...same goes for the other team...in slayer on high ground this usually happens in front of the gate. there isnt anymore times where you really had to think of how you were gonna use tactical strategies on the other team...ie: lockout.....on this map..you really had to work as a team....if the opposing team was set up at snipe tower or BR tower....you and your team really needed to communicate and work as one to gain the weapons back and become the dominant team....if you ever got yourself into this position then it was YOUR fault and NOT the other teams fault for "whoring" the power weapons...you ALL had the same opportunity to get the weapons and for some reason if the other team got team then YOU must have done something wrong...its just like chess...you all start as pawns and by making the right moves you turn into Queens, Bishops, and Horses...etc....but in h3 there is no strategy..everyone stays as Pawns no matter what weapon you have...ppl just run around with the AR and melee...over and over again...its pretty easy too...no skill involved in that at all....7-8 bullets and press B when close..no need for headshots..just keep the reticle on you opponent and squeeze RT...no aiming needed like the H2 BR...if the person had a shotgun/mauler/sword....thats no problem either cuz the AR is a a great mid/semi long range weapon too...just backpeddle and youre good. teams no longer have to possess knowledge about a maps or weapons...just where the other team spawns and the fastest way to get to there so you can pump em full of AR ammo. in H2 ppl fought over the weapons cuz they knew that power weapons equals, well, POWER! and if you couldnt formulate a plan or a strategy to get these weapons then youre just not that great of a player....in h2 whole teams would rush to these weapon spawns and try to gain these power weapons in hopes of gaining an advantage over the other team (in H2 all these weapons were placed directly in the center of both teams, where it would take the same amount of time to get to from each base) ie: Beaver Creek....the OS was dead center and although the rockets were easier for the red team to obtain...the blue team had the sniper spawn closer to them. If there was a H3 Beaver Creek...i bet no one would even try to get these weapons cuz the AR is good enuff....the rockets have a smaller blast radius and slower reload time and slower firing...so an AR wielding opponent or opponents can easily take the rocket guy out no problem....the overshield is crap in h3...one melee and its gone....the sniper..well, everyone knows whats wrong with the sniper now....(sidenote: although i dont like it as much as h2....that doesnt mean im not good with it) the n00b combos dont work anymore....and the only thing that would be good on an h3 beaver creek is the needlers...overpowered? i dunno...you tell me.....so wat are we left with? the ASSAULT RIFLE!...and can you imagine the type of gameplay that would be....1. spawn inside base...2. dont pick up any weapons 3. head outside 4. hold RT until your dead! 5. repeat. can anyone tell me how you could possibly strategize a hypothetical H3 Beaver Creek with the advent of the new improved "balanced" AR?

 •
Posted by: RogueTendancies The Sniper Rifle - So many people complain about the sniper rifle because of it's longer delay.
I think you misinterpreted the meaning of 'broken' when people initially complained about the Sniper Rifle. When they refer to the Sniper as being 'broken' they weren't talking about the recoil or the rate of fire, what they were talking about was the headshot registry. The recoil was just an annoyance. With the new recoil, when supposedly missing the first headshot....players weren't able to make a second attempt before the person became aware that he was being shot at....that's where the uproar came from.. Your response to this will probably be: Latency. Ok, I know lag and all that can cause people to miss occasional shots but what about 2-4 consecutive shots to the head/body of a non-moving target? All this happening while the connection is in Green Bar and everyone else is Sniping regularly. How do you explain that? Hundreds, if not, Thousands of people have had similar experiences and even have proof via Saved Films. I've heard arguments saying that the Host xbox will have a different point of view and the shots that were supposed to have hit on your screen were, in fact, missed. Then why the blood splashes and sparks flying when the bullets hit the enemy? Take a game of Shotty Snipes on Highground for example. You spawn on the beach. You move up the beach and see an enemy standing perfectly still by the turret as he tries to snipe one of your teammates. You line up your shot on your enemy's head, the dot appears inside your red reticle meaning that you are, in fact, aiming at his head, you shoot. Blood flies from the head, and the sparks from the shields ignite. What do you expect? A kill, right? If all your senses are saying he's been shot in the head...what do you do? Move on to your next target, duh! But what happens? Nothing. He's still alive. You go back. Your enemy is still standing there, aiming at your buddies. You try again, headshot or not, if you hit your enemy again, whose already been shot once according to your TV screen, he should die...but what happens? Nothing. And by the time you can line up another shot, he's figured out that you've been shooting him and takes cover. Mean while his teammates have been following your Sniper trail and kill you. Bottom line is if your xbox and TV screen says that everything is ideal for a kill then the kill SHOULD happen, period. That's what people expect and when it doesn't happen that way it can make the game annoying and appear 'broken'. Leading a moving target is one thing, and is usually advised in situations where it's called for, like long distances, but how do you lead a non moving target or a target that peeks out from behind cover and stands perfectly in you reticle? You can't! I don't know of anyone who says to themselves before taking a shot, "Hmmm, I should aim my reticle slightly to the side his head because, according to the host xbox and despite all the signs telling me that his head is here, his head is actually over there." That's my only complaint about the Sniper Rifle...other than that I love it, in fact, I get most of my kills with it. I've adapted.
Posted by: RogueTendancies Addition of Items to the Game - Again why complain?
Most people who complain about the equipment aren't complaining about the added dimension to them own gameplay (weapons, grenades, equipment)...what they're referring to is that now they have to worry about another person using the damn equipment that ultimately changes the whole game and makes it feel, well, un-halo like. I really don't mind the equipment, I think it's cool, but I can understand what people are complaining about because sometimes it just gets ridiculous and it slows the pace of the game down. Let me explain with some examples. Epitaph, slayer doubles. You have a BR and an AR. Your enemy has a mauler and a shotgun. You see him mid map and you unload some BR/AR ammo into him, bringing his shields down significantly...he runs..he's one shot away form dying. He happens to pick up a bubble shield. He uses it. What do you do? Freeze, right? You don't wanna go into the Bubble shield cuz he has a shotgun. What happens next. You and him proceed to stare at each other until someone makes a mistake. Either you go in and get raped by the shotgun or he comes out trying to get close while you backpeddle and BR him to death. But if you have decent amount of commonsense you'll probably just stay put....cuz you know that a death isn't worth it. Same goes for shield doors. This happens alot on Snowbound and Epitaph. You wouldn't go into a Bubble shield with a shotgun guy would you? And if it was you inside one-shot...would you go out? Exactly. The game has just slowed down to a halt. Construct, slayer. The common strat for this map is to camp upstairs, rite? Ok, so the game is going smoothly, kill for kill. Then at one point both teams are upstairs by the two purple lifts. One team on one side...the other team on the other side. Someone throws out a power drainer down the middle. What happens next? Nothing. Each team will stay put and wait it out until the power drainer is gone. As a result, the game has slowed down....again. Theres other examples, but these are the ones that stick out most....plus I'm running outta time...im off in 30mins.

 •
Posted by: Young Halo 2 Fan You took the words right out my mouth =], and could you show me where you got the quote from lukems from? lol
I can't remember which post it was it was a while back, and the thread is now locked. It was someone getting cocky and started posting a bunch of stuff, he felt he had every right to voice his opinion and complain... So Lukems took him up on that theory *wink*

 •
Posted by: LIVES FOR JIHAD The Sniper Rifle - partial agreement. The sniper still has one problem. Iv noticed a few times myself where the shot does not register. I dunno if it is a glitch or lag but i never have any trouble with the beam rifle not registering a hit. Any thoughts?
I am confident it has to do with lag issues, but I'm not a bungie game programmer so I can't say that is the truth. Whether it is or isn't, I wasn't touching on that subject, but rather whoever it was that I read (I forget how many people) that were complaining about the sniper rifle's delay.
Pistol - Bring back the halo 2 version 1.1 pistol.
I still think if they should bring back the Halo: CE pistol but took off the scope/zoom feature it'd be killer and I'd use it a lot!
Maps - Disagree. Some of the maps are kinda bad. Isolation is veto'ed like 80% of the time. Contruct is pretty dumb. Whoever controls the sword can camp at the grav lifts. I dont wanna go into any more detail but we need some halo 2 and halo 1 maps in there. Only the best however. (coag, lockout, sidewinder, chillout)
I haven't had a whole lot of people veto Isolation, I actually like the map. Construct isn't as bad as you claim it to be. I work the sword guy all the time. It's all about mastering the art of bouncing grenades off walls to go around corners. Even then, there are 2 more grav lifts, and only 1 sword. And even then, if all 3 are camped, there is the ramp or... get one up and hang out below. I do hope they release maybe the Halo CE maps and Halo 2 maps as separate DLC or mappacks like they did with Halo 2. The maps are still kinda new, I know when I played some maps I hated them bc, honestly I hadn't adapted to them... now i have them all figured out and I see the potential for each map. LOL Sometimes I'll notice things about each map that the designers did and think " Ooooh I Get it. I bet this is how they intended it to go..."
Hayabusa Armor Frequency- This is a problem?
Yea lol havent you seen the insane amount of Hayabusa-haters?
I too have found things that im displeased with. I dont like the fact that most players have 1/3 kills coming from melee. I think it is too strong. It should be toned down.
Sorry, I have to disagree. Though it's not perfect, and I wish the lag didn't play such a huge role in that (but I think that will plateau soon enough once it dies down a bit). But Halo 2 there was a lot of melee, in fact, I found myself meleeing a bunch in Halo CE even. It's just another tactical attack. Once you get close enough you whack them once you've crapped on their shields. It honestly hasn't changed. [Edited on 10.12.2007 3:23 PM PDT]

 • quote]Posted by: Frosan The only complaint that I have about Halo 3 is the unreliable 'beat down' system. It seems that some people can lunge much farther than others, while some can't even hit the guy they are walking into. It may be lag, but you have to take the good with the bad.
I will tell you this many melee encounters are based on who has more health if you lose your shield before the other does and you melee at once, you lose every time. also the lunge is affected by lag watch your saved films to see what I mean

Fix the acheievement glicth and get better maps and you got a perfect game here bungie. also, dont forget the magnum, bring back halo 2 magnum. That gun was a real pistol, not some sniper tankbuster or slow peiece of -blam!-.
