Rumor Control
We don't normally address rumors one way or the other, but this one was so ill-conceived and mean spirited that we felt it necessary to cut it off at the pass. Halo 2 clan content will be a normal aspect of the Xbox Live service, and will incur no extra costs for the user. Sigh.

Frankie, I am a bit taken aback by that statement. Mean spirited? Hardly. We had no intention of it causing such an issue for Bungie. Knowing that various Bungie employees on various websites (TeamXbox.com and Bungie.org namely), I personally thought this would have no legs. Bungie.org squashed it quickly, as I had imagined, and I even openly vouched for it's fallacy less than 3 hours after it's inception. We had no intention of continuing the rumor for more than a day or two and once a [i]certain[/i] Bungie employee asked it to be removed and recanted, and it was, I felt the best course of action was to give the reasons for the rumor. AEG has followed up asking us to remove the stories completely, and we did. To come out and say that this was a deliberate attack on Bungie or MS is just outlandish. There was no malice or ill-will behind it. It was mearly to see just how quickly rumors spread and how easy it is to spread them. Sadly, it's all too easy. And, just to clarify, I'm 19, no wife, no kids, and I sold my PS2 a long time ago, along with my GameCube, for RTCW, WSB2K3, and KotOR. :)

AS long as the ability to play dual single player over X-Box Live is possible, I'm happy! Speaking of which, I haven't heard whether it is or isn't possible to do.

Too bloody right my friend!. I did hear rumours last year too, claiming that xbox-LIVE would support 16 players normal and 24 with extra £££. Of course, I quashed those rumours straight away, as I too truly believe that you guys are the only one`s to listen to..........as for the rest of them, thay`re all about as reliable as the newspapers!!!. I`m finding it all too difficult to take in too, as my life seems to revolve around 9th of November.....come on Bungie, do us proud!.....bring it on!. When there are alot of rumors about something that something is called something: legendary. AKA the stuff of legends. Because it would be hard for anyone to say Halo is bad except maybe for Roger Ebert. The worst Halo rumor I've ever heard was my friend recently told me he didn't play Halo because a friend told him that the controls were horrible. So he never played the game himself.
