Foehammer's Death in HaloCE was more dramatic than [[ Halo3 Spoiler ]]

Foehammer's Death in HaloCE was more dramatic than Johnson's in Halo3 I seriously think this. I don't mind that Johnson died but my blaming god at least give him a good death. In the special edition DVD they talk about adding death to make your actions seem heroic, but that only works if the deaths are beliavable. I mean theres a difference between brave and retarded. Miranda Keyes going on suicide mission for apparently no reason at all is retarded. Captain Keyes going down with his ship then leading his men to the "weapons cache" is brave. Likewise, Foehammer and the rest of Echo 419 were risking their lives to pick you up and those blamstard banshees shot them down. It was truely an epic moment in the game which felt real. Compare that with Johnsons death when he is killed by Sparky who apparently has magically aquired a death beam of sorts. -blam!-, why didnt he use that against the cheif in Halo CE I wonder? Playing Halo 3 just made me realise how awesome Halo CE is.

 • Sparky upgraded to Vista, duh. Johnson's death seemed pointless, along with Miranda. You'd think she'd wear some protection... RIP Echo 419

 • I hated her death because 1 you never actually saw what she looked like. 2 All she ever did was fly around while you risked your life killing everything. 3 Her contribution to the fight was giving you a warthog every now and then. 4 When she did die it was a waste of time watching it, i just got on with the level. and finally she was a crappy driver Johnson Rules!!!

 • That's what the death of Jhonson was meant to make you feel. You say that he was killed by a little laser, when he survived Reach and things, but it was all to infuriate the player

 •
Posted by: THE GENERAL WAR im the only one that thought guilty sparks death was sad huh?
To be fair I thought it was a shame, seeing as how I appreciated the help and all. Though I dont even like Johnson as a character, and even I thought "son of a -blam!-!" when Spark fried him.

 • I don't really see how they could have made Johnsons death that much more dramatic. He can't be killed by the Flood, and there is no covenant presence. What do you suggest?

 • Johnson survived Reach, Installation 04's destruction, all of Halo 2 and more only to be killed by a little bit of laser to the chest. That pissed me off. I thought Foehammer's fall was excellent. It just seemed perfectly timed. In all, I thought that Halo had far more bravery, desperation and the "good" sort of drama than any of the other games which shot too much for the "epic" storyline. Halo: CE was about one man on one ring with one goal which must be achieved at any cost. We were in the dark about everything and that really connected me with plight of the Pillar of Autumn and her crew.

 • I D I O T S Miranda was not trying to get Johnson out of there, her goal was to stop the ring from firing seeing as the chief was too far away to do so. And the only way to really do that was to kill Johnson and herself. However, her emotions got in her way, and instead of shooting him, she just stared, which ultimately got her killed. Her death was "brave" Johnson's death sucked. End of story. E419's death was the best. Also, end of story.

 • Foehammer's death was a little cheesy, but hers and Keyes death were epic. I think it was really dramatic at Johnson's death, but it was the worst death ever. Oh, and Miranda's a dumbass. I hated her anyways. lol, pelican suicide mission.

She cant exactly dive into the bridge or pull a backflip or something. With Foehammer there was real chance she could of got MC out of there. With Miranda it was like the most random goddamn thing. I didn't think it was "hearth wrenching" because I couldn't get over the fact of how incrediblely stupid Miranda is.
Posted by: Snake on Banshee You have got to be kidding me. The first time i beat the game i didnt even see that person die. I just drove right past it. What could be more dramatic than this? http://www.bungie.net/stats/halo3/screenshot_viewer_popup.aspx?fs=true&ssid=3412506
Thats a stupid argument I didn't even see Johnsons death cause I skipped the cutscene.
If you don't at least force them to press A to skip then don't get bent out of shape when they ignore some little in-game cinematic. And sorry, I never cared for Foehammer. She was of no real concern to me. When she died I wasn't like "NOOOOO, FOEHAMMER!!!"; It was more like, "$hit I gotta keep driven'." Johnson's death, on the other hand pissed me off. For me it was like, "... ...That damn light bulb really just did shoot him... fuu&ers goin' down." And while the fight was nonexistant the cutscene did get me worked up. Oh well, at least Johnson lived long enought give Spark a swift kick in the a$$. But even still the H3 Trench Run at the end was better than CE's so it kinda makes up for that.

 • I personally laughed when Foehammer died, I felt she deserved it for having the stupidest motto ever. "We deliver." I stopped liking her the second I heard her say that.

 • I disagree. Johnson's death was a big surprise since most people weren't expecting 343 to suddenly freak out and laser him. Before that, you and the "lightbulb" (such a good line by Johnson) were about to destroy the ark and Spark was helping you since you were the reclaimer. When he became a casualty, it hit me like a ton of bricks and I figured I could save him when he gave me his Spartan Laser.

 • Actually, after I saw her get shot down the 1st time, I just kept driving every time after. I figured I'd save some time. I need to go back and see that again, 'cause I agree, it was epic.

 • If Johnson had to give his life for the story of Halo 3, they should have at least had him go down with a shotgun in one hand and grenade in the other as he takes down a horde of aliens with him. The annoying light bulb lazer thing did not do him justice.
