Think about it:
- For most of our country's history it was nothing more than a small town out in the unsettled boondocks of the West Coast
- It wasn't a major port until relatively recently, when China and Japan began trading with us
- It has no other major natural resources
- It's in the middle of a desert
And yet it has grown to be the second-largest city in the US, with over 17 million people. What caused such phenomenal growth in so short of a time? Thoughts?

So they decided to make a place almost exactly the same. Hence, Los Angeles. -chumpzilla99
I can tell you're from the east coast just because you compared those two cities. They aren't at all similar. San Fransisco is a hell of a lot nicer than Los Angeles.
