What are the Day 1 Matchmaking Hoppers? Never played Halo and want to know what Matchmaking is? Get introduced here.

Yeah but really SWAT is just Call Of Duty on halo maps..... Was a nice addition when Halo 2's maps became old but looks to me like Bungie want people to play Halo 3 as it was ment to be. Dont reckon you'll get SWAT for a year or so. I'd have to vote yes for a ranked BTB....though not at the expense of the unranked gametype. BTB is the first thing guests at my place wanna play. All the playlists will probably change pretty quick anyway......remember when Halo 2 launched with NO team slayer......? That lasted all of a month.

I would like to make a desperate plea for SWAT to be added as soon as is feasible. Not just Team SWAT though, and not in the social/unranked playlists. I've always found SWAT to provide the most intense and adrenaline pumping play found in all of Halo 2's matchmaking, and its nature is different enough from traditional game play that it demands a ranking system to ensure fair (and challenging) play for all. I have no doubt that what has already been provided will be orders of magnitude more than enough to entertain me for years, but SWAT is the cherry on top that makes the whole sundae come together. Please Bungie, hear my prayer.

Yeah I read stats when halo2 reached 4 billion games that SWAT was the second most played(16.76%) and Team Snipers was the fourth (9.66%). Where are they?I suppose if they come out after awhile thats fine but they'll be sorely missed.

Chalk me up as another that's really rather annoyed there is no ranked BTB. Considering what BTB has become in Halo2 this is a HUGE letdown. Hopefully by the time I'm done with Campaign this horrendous oversite will have been rectified, but I doubt it.

Just 5 people in Rumble Pit, wow thats gonna be fun on Halo 3 maps. they are all fairely big, theres gonna be like 3 maps to play on

I agree. It is a very stupid move from Bungie to remove BTB from ranked playlists. Now opposing team will start quitting as soon as their flag is stolen for the first time. Nobody cares if you lose just Exp when there is no rank. Please Bungie, put competitive BTB back to ranked playlist where it belongs. We have been eagerly waiting for update in BTB after social playlist-hell and now you´re totally screwing this for us. Not everybody wants to play slayer 4v4. Ranked BTB is tactical and requires a lot of teamwork. Now you are just ruining a perfectly good gamemode. Please, think it over again?

What? No team snipers and team swat??? That are really bad news! these were my most played playlists :( But i like that there is an unranked team slayer too, because i often wanted to play team slayer with my guests. same for team doubles. And i think rumble pit with 8 players is better but i don´t know didn´t played it yet. so if bungie means it´s better... we´ll see

this is a good grouping of playlists. letting everyone try some new playlists and also keeping some of the favorites from Halo 2. I am looking forward to Team Tactical. it will bring a brand new twist to the game. I am also looking foward to the VIP playlist. cant wait to see what bungie will tell us tomorrow.

I fear I'm too far back in the post, but I'll respond anyway. These playlists look good, but I'd really like to see a playlist for any size team, so that if I'm online and only two of my buddies are with me, I can join a playlist where a team size of 3 will work (this was where we would usually play the old Multi-team). I guess with these playlists, 3 is the only weird number for a team - 4 is obviously handled, 5 works in Social Slayer or Social Skirmish, and 6, 7, or 8 go into Big Team. So I guess what I'm saying is... can Multiteam be increased back to teams of 3? Or maybe have a 3v3v3 playlist?

Multi-Team is back! Kind of, but I'll take it. Also looking forward to that Eliminatio in Team Tactical. A few nice twists so we'll see how it all goes. Absolutely loving this update stuff every single day. Every day a new surprise!

Or that BTB games are just as fun now as they used to be when they were ranked? How many games have you played where three, four, or more people quit right at the beginning of a match because it wasn't the gametype/map/whatever they wanted? The "New BTB" matches that I've played lack the edge and soul that the old ranked Big Team Battle and BTB Skirmish had, where it was a rush and a big f****** deal just to get the flag out of the base. Now people just quit, betray, or don't even try. I say, bring me back the days where the best BTB matches ended in a 0-0 tie; not because everyone quit, but because the match was balanced and just that damn good. So the playlist gurus have been on probation in my eyes, especially after this update; at this point, I don't really see why BTB isn't being given a real chance with all the influx of new players. If this changes in the future, then my bad! But hey, if you know some people that are interested in BTB customs, then by all means please hook me up. Otherwise, you won't have to worry about seeing this idiot around in matchmaking.

this stuff is great, BUT how come there is no RANK BTB, i love BTB with Ranks, at least have 6v6 that was just as good.
