-adding create checkpoint option (game_save) to the campaign pause menu -auto-save cp option (if you don't save manually, you'll lose the cps you obtain as you progress. This'll ensure you don't lose them) CE's checkpoint system was already versatile (indefinitely lasting cps, spots that yield infinite cps, delaying cps by jumping, throwing a grenade, firing the Banshee plasma cannons) but Halo PC added a menu to select them from (which makes Halo 2's five-times-death-penultimate-checkpoint-revert implementation redundant), not to mention individual save and quit options. The only thing it lacks is the above and it'd be just perfect. I'd also like to see campaign medals (they've done something similar in Halo PC MP haven't they?) and the option for a freeroaming camera. And total HUD customization.
