Posted by: IceWeasel
Posted by: BlueOyster I'm about as pissed off at the end of halo2 as the end of Matrix 2 anyways yea Eagle you should either write a book or let bungie hire you to make a game. But then again thats the point in both of them. You've seen the ending to the second and now you cannot and will not die before you see the very ending. I'm gonna play Halo again and see if i can pick out some of this stuff like you did. I did always wonder why the monitor picked MC out of the crowd of marines and didnt pick any other random elite, but also had a Title for him and was waiting for him for who knows how long.
Eagle? *looks around*.... do you mean Weasel? Anyway, yeah. The end of matrix 2 would have angered me greatly, but I don't know why it didn't. I guess it's because the Wachowski Brothers (or Warner Brothers) put it right out in the open that there'd be a matrix 3 before matrix 2 came out. In the matrix, you couldn't have 2 without 3, and you can't have 3 without 2 (however, some are satisfied with just matrix 1). I can only surmise that halo (2) is the same way. Again, it's debateable whether or not it's coming... It'd be a shame if it didn't but now I'm rambling.... moving on! I'm jotting down quotes that gravemind says in hopes that my next update can be on him (it?). Well, I got to go to bed. *looks heroicly over masses of non-existant buildings* "good night, new mombasa."
BlueOyster must have gotten into a mix-up there:-) Halo 2 is all about preference. I, as did many others, enjoyed Halo 2 (all of it) to the fullest. After playing through half the game I figured Halo 2 would end on a “What the crap!” note, and I wasn't at all disappointed with the way it turned out. I'd rather the game be split into two parts, each containing substance and flow, instead of trying (that’s the key word) to cram every 12 - 40 year old gamer’s fantasies into one sour bite. In many ways, I believe the ending to Halo 2, or rather, the bridge to Halo 3 was a nod to all the theorist within the Bungie community. For those of us who love to speculate, Halo 2 is a gold mine of information. Threads on gameplay, physics, and tricks won’t keep the b.net community going for years. It’s those crazy speculation that fuel this community, and in that respect, the end of Halo 2 is brilliant! Anyways, that’s my two cents, and I’ll be jumping back into my usual theory walk soon enough. -Eagle 117 [Edited on 12/2/2004 11:31:54 PM]
