Mini update: The Ark a clone of this post may be found here. Good evening. This mini update is a supporting arguement for the Ark theory. PRIMER Many people believe that the Biblical connection of The Ark is Noah's Ark. And then there are the few who believe that Guilty Spark was speaking of an Ark that was like The Ark of the Covenant. So far I have only seen (and contributed to) the battle of notions. That is, others as well as myself have merely pointed out ideas of what the Ark was and how it applys (or would apply) to the Ark and its appearently logical roll in the Halo universe. But I believe that the standard for Biblical comparison should also include verses from the Bible as a supporting statement and something a bit more tangible than a written thought. For those of you who are skeptics of my work, I would like to direct you to the yellow paragraph within my master thread. THEORY As far as my standings go on whether or not it [The Ark] is Noah's (boat) or that of The Covenant (Chest revealing God's Glory), I believe that it is the Ark of the Covenant. Before, in October, I have made posts about what to expect in halo2 using some Scriptural verses I found. Lo and behold, they "Coincidently" occured (^see the yellow link above^). Any way, back to the Ark. For information on Noah's Ark and the flood, you may want to look up Genesis, chapters 6-9. As for the Ark of the Covenant, I shall focus on That right now. Concerning the Ark joining the Temple (of God)
1 Kings 8: 3-4,6-8 When all the leaders of Israel arrived, the priests and Levites took the Ark of The LORD, along with the Tabernacle and all its sacred utensils, and carried them up to the Temple... ...Then the priests carried the Ark of the LORD's covenant into the inner sanctuary of the Temple - the Most Holy Place - and placed it beneath the wings of the cherubim. The cherubim spread their wings over the Ark, forming a canopy over the Ark and its carrying poles. These poles where so long that their ends could be seen from the front entrance of the Temple's main room - the Holy Place - but not outside of it. They are still there to this day.
At the death of Jesus
Mathew 27:50-52 Then Jesus shouted out again, and he gave up his spirit. At that moment, the curtain in the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The whole earth shook, rocks split apart, and tombs were opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead.
What we might expect from a possible halo 3
Revelation 11:19 Then, in heaven, the Temple of God was opened and the Ark of His covenant could be seen inside the Temple. Lightning flashed and roared; there was a great hailstorm, and the world was shaken by a mighty earthquake.
I don't know if this made sense to anyone else out there, but I hope that it atleast helped in some way. (note: This update was a bit more rushed than ussual due to time constraints) [edit: I'm going to bed. Any questions directed to me will be answered between 15 and 17 hours from when this thread was edited (10:28pst)] [Edited on 11/30/2004 10:30:18 PM]
