I have to speak my mind.

If you ask me, this entire moddation business is getting the lot of us paranoid. It’s almost all that we talk about anymore. Last week, right before I left for vaccation, we were talking about mods, and when I get back, we are talking about mods once more. Quite frankly, people are getting obsessed with getting a mod title. I see this as a major problem; just like post-counters and short topic lists were problems in the past. When Sketch announced that there would be new mods he accidentally started this sort of contest- a contest that no one was willing to admit was really there. I also beleive it's safe to say that that all of us have gotten mod-fever, save for the mods, of course. The solution? Well, for now, sadly, there is none. Other than the fact than next time pick mods at random, otherwise we'll have people competing for the title.

 •
Posted by: The Rip Saw Look at it this way, Bungie has most likely already picked the people they will ask (or maybe they've even asked already, although I doubt they could keep it a secret for [this long) or at the very least, they have a good idea who they will ask. Asking to become a mod can therefore not convince them otherwise, quite opposite. If they had already considered it, they might view your asking as annoying and decide to reconsider. Of course, Bungie is usually more tolerant than that. That's because they are selfless, benevolant, elite, good-looking people who deserve to rule the world! And no matter what anyone tells you, sucking up is a good thing! ;) Good, wholesome reasons being a mod is good: 1. You get to help Bungie. 2. You get to cut out the crap. 3. You are making the forums better. Good, unwholesome reasons to being a mod: 1. You get your own avatar. 2. You get to forcefully exert your will over others. 3. You have power. 4. You get to forcefully exert your will over others. 5. You get to call yourself a mod, making others jealous. 6. You get to forcefully exert your will over others. 7. You have power. Resons being a mod sucks: 1. People will watch what they say around you. 2. People will watch what you say. 3. People will automatically hate you for no reason. (Do you even want those kind of people to like you?)
I agree with this at 100%. Nice post.
