I'm beginning to worry...
I have begun to worry more and more about Halo2. I heard that Bungie is going to have real companies advertise on the billboards on the Earth levels, I think this is a bad idea.BUNGIE DON'T SELL OUT LIKE OTHER DEVELOPERS! PLEASE! I fear that there will be so many changes that it wont have the same feel as halo 1 does. I just hope it will have the same qualities that I loved about Halo: CE.
And please don't make the warthog destructible! I love launching that mofo as high into the stratusphere as I can!
I think I am the only one who thinks that fighting on Earth won't be as good as fighting on a Halo, I hope there will be more than a few levels that take place on the other halo ring.
I guess i'm just afraid of being disappointed because Halo 1 was so close to being perfect.

Unstable, you obviously didn't pay any attention to the storyline of Halo or any of the related books. 343 Guilty Spark informed both the MC and Cortana that Halo was one of several similar installations. WTF is your problem with the plot including more than one Halo? When Halo 2 comes out you'll be eating your words, 'cause I'm positive that the progression of the Halo story will blow every single fan's mind. Just accept what Bungie is about to bless us with and quit yer whinin'.

Ok, normally I wouldn't do this, since it 100% violates the code of [i]The Order of the Fools of April[/i]. But I've seen a lot of posts about this. Way too many. That story was listed as a top story on Bungie.net, on April 1, 2004. Said top story no longer can be found anywhere on the site. (don't believe me? try searching...) Hmmm... Now I wonder... Why would a story only be on the site for one day? Surely something as important as a large corporate alliance would be worth touting for more than a mere 24 hours? On april 1st bungie made the "new bungie.net" and it had that story on it about the sponsors and van. It was all an april fools joke.

wow, these are the most active boards ive ever seen! i made this post, posted on another one and came back and it was already on the second page with 13 posts! Anyways, the news was from gamespot and i don't think they do April fools jokes. I sure hope it was tho! Thanks for the replies people.

But I stand by my comment: I hope to god there isn't another Halo (the ring world of the forerunners), as that will just be... simply put, retarded. I want to see Earth be glassed ;) (j/k). Halo 2 should be... interesting, how it turns out in the end, and if there will be conquest based multiplayer (that would be OMFG amazing).

Re: The sponsors Go ahead and find the article that mentioned sponsors for Halo 2. If you CAN find it, note that it was posted on April 1st. Re: The Warthog They've already said vehicles plan are destructable. Does this mean you can't launch them? No. Does this mean you can't launch one, and then drive it off somewhere? Most likely. You simply must accept it: Halo 2 is NOT Halo. While being a sequel, you need to understand that it its own game, as well, and will not just be Halo over again, which seems to be what people such as yourself want. If you want a game with all the exact same features and gameplay as Halo, just play Halo again.

Okay, first, I DO hope every vehical is destructable! BUT, I think it'd be cool if in multiplayer you had the option to make it indestructable. I do hope the second Halo is like the first too though!

I hope there ISN'T another "Halo" because that would just be... unoriginal.. The storyline in Halo 1 did a bang-up job with a Halo setting, but c'mon, the covie's want a piece of Earth, so I hope most of it takes place on Earth.. Besides.. Halo basically has the exact same features as "our" Earth.. forests, swamps, tundra, yadda yadda... So, I can't wait to duke it out in our own futuristic land. And about the billboards... If HUGE companies have actual billboards, that will just increase the "realism". Besides, they aren't selling out, they're just trying to add more of that creative realism that Bungie is chock full of.. So don't be disappointed.

They didn't sell out to them, those company's are sponsers, they did a big thing on it, but it only lasted like 2 days, and they have starbucks that will come out with a new coffee during the release, and then their giving away a van during the release, and then their doin a few more things.

I don't think you should worry too much. About the destructible vehicles, it might take more then one rocket to pulverise them too. Who knows. Maybe you might get your hopes up with the more info coming our way, and even E3 might have some great revelations. Dunno, just trying to cheer you up. ^_^
