Halo 2 Piracy
Last night a pirated copy of Halo 2 was released onto the internet. Needless to say we think this really sucks. Aside from years of hard work being stolen from us, we've gone to great lengths to ensure that the details of the Halo 2 campaign remain a mystery for players to experience for themselves on November 9th. Microsoft is currently engaged in a full scale investigation and to those foolish enough to partake in this piracy, you will soon witness the firepower of this fully operational battle station.
Members of the Bungie community - we need your help. The Underground Army is being called into action; this is not a drill. Anyone who has information regarding the leak of the game or individuals or websites promoting the download of these illegal files is asked to please contact us by sending email to [b]piracy@microsoft.com[/b] or calling 1-800-RULEGIT. We also ask that you help us minimize the spoilers for those opting to wait for the retail release by refraining from posting screens, talking about the story and deleting any such posts you encounter. Many of you have already been actively tracking down and forwarding links to us and we thank you for your help.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I'm not angry about Halo 2 being leaked.......I seriously think that the story line is exactly the same as the first one. San Andreas hasn't been leaked yet and I don't know anyone who has or has downloaded the leaked Halo 2 but from what I have heard.....it truly sucks, I will definately be buying a PS2 for SA......Has anyone had a good look at the San Andreas trailers?? the Graphics are soooooooooooooooooooooooo much more superior to Halo and Halo 2, the Halo 2 trailer that I have seen so far, the graphics are patchy and non textured properly, hey Bungie can't even make the Master Cheifs helmet visor make reflections of things in front of him. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut good bloody luck in finding this guy, I think that from what I have heard from forums etc etc that you will be very very very dissappointed.

We should locate these sinister perpetrators and break their thumbs to inhibit them from playing their distastefully attained pirated copy of such a marvelous and beautiful game such as Halo 2. Damn,that is a good idea spartan 81, i should start doing that and fuk all those pirates. When theyare in jail they should get someone to play halo 2 in front of them all day long forever!! lol But i think that the waitfor halo 2 is the best part and thos tards didn't have the patience/respect towards Bungie! man, this is terrible. The day Halo 2 was stolen, I was informed by my friend on XBL. I assumed he was lying, but the next day i checked the net. He was RIGHT! Now, my quest is to find all pirates of Halo 2 and crap on their porch. Then... i'll kick their asses in a few rounds of Halo to put them in their place. But, seriously, us gamers have to do what we can to keep Halo 2 a mystery until November 9th. Until then, lets kill us some pirates.

I can`t believe that you want sommat in return for helping out the `one` gaming developer that we`ve all come to admire!. Bungie has done more for us `Halo` loving fans, than ANY other developer in the history of gaming (well.....at least in my gaming life LOL). i think that some of reward is needed. if we go to the trouble of tracking down a copy of halo 2, without downloading it for ourselfs and not selling it because we r true bungie fans, we should get a piece of the pie(some of the money that microsoft/bungie will charge for coping it) or atleast a discount on halo 2, even a free copy of one of the halo books or something like that. if they did i would be straight there finding halo 2 for download and sending the address to microsoft. but if i dont get anything out of it why should i even bother. p.s. my xbox is not chipped so if i did find a copy of halo 2 by the time i get it chipped halo 2 would be out, and i do not mind waiting 22 days for halo 2.

I know its been said by everyone else, and this late coming into the posts, but i host a large group of Halo players in northern wisc. and we too will answer the call of Bungie and do what we can to aid in the finding of these people that feel piracy is they key to fortune. they just couldn't wait the 3 weeks for the release, sorry arses like that need to find out that to piss of bungie is to piss off ALL the loyal fans of them and their games. I have sent a printed copy of your plea to all the game stores within 100 miles of me to post on their boards. I have been a loyal fan to Bungie and Halo since the creation of it. I even sold off my old xbox for the halo counsel. all of us gamers need to rise up and find these people and let them know that it is NOT ok to steal from us! we will not sit down for this. Bungie you have me, my family, my friends, and my my fellow gamers behind you, ask of us what you will, we come to serve. ND

Sorry to hear the bad news but I must admit, I don't feel sorry for you guys much. Piracy doesn't effect sales at all. A new record was set on the most preorders for a video game ever. Which game was this? Halo 2! 1.5 Million copies preordered already. Think about how much money that is if each game costs $50. Considering using pirated xbox games is something that isn't mainstream this isn't a threat at all. Lets see, since using pirated games on xbox lacks xbox live, most who pirate this game will also buy a legal version. This in effect makes there pirated version legal since all users are entitled to one backup copy of software they own. The very few who don't buy it most likely couldn't afford it. Yes, some people can't afford to pay $50. If you take all these figures into consideration, you'll notice Microsoft and Bungie won't notice any ill effects from this leak. You may ask yourself this, why are they saying they will go after pirates? Because they have to say that. It wouldn't be a very wise decision to say "we don't care, pirate our software". The only thing Microsoft or Bungie will be interested in is that $100,000 fine per each offense. If I got a cut of that $100,000 i'd report a site with a pirated copy. Matter of fact, it would become my new job. LOL. The vast majority of people saying how messed up this is mostly say "how could they get there hands on it before me". This is the american way, "I must get it first or else I hate you!". Another great american hobbie is scare tactics. If we say "if you download it we'll kill your family and fine you until you commit suicide" most of the people out there will assume that can happen. Sure downloading something for free is bad for all the hard work put into this game but lets be honest, this game will still be a great success and no one will starve from this leaked copy. Microsofts and Bungies stock will still raise as well. I've preordered Halo2 and can't wait until its released. I also couldn't care less if someone else is already playing it and didn't pay for it. On a side note, thanks for all the hard work and can't wait to see it in action! :)
