All I am saying......how HALO 3 looked before.............when they first showed it to us and saying that "This is HALO 3"..."This is how its going to look like".. and now when the game is going to release, its nothing like that. And the excuse they have is......... "The artists preferred this FLAT METAL TEXTURE". How can they say that? They should come clean with us (the fans) atleast. Like I said before. When the next HALO 4 comes out or whatever in the next gen XBOX console in the next 4 years or so............... suddenly the artists would NEVER prefer the FLAT METAL TEXTURE then......... but the CONCRETE HAMMERED LOOK.............. which they promised.

WOW I don't know who to quote in here, so much stupid -blam!- has been said! I just don't get how so many of you little babies can cry about a game that is not even out yet. You see a picture taken from a game that is unfinished and you cry about it. Why? You should happy that a game that in not done, looks so good. The beta looked beautiful. And the beta was put out with maybe half of the graphic polish that the full game will get. And you cry because it is not Gears of war? Bungie keeps talking about the size of the game, and how each player can me miles apart in the game. But you cry that the game is not big enough? Or that it don't have enough content? huh? I don't get you're stupid logic on that one. Then one idiot talks about Mass Effect and compares it to Halo 3? WTF is wrong with you? Hell that game is not out yet. The darkest part of the armor should be just above true black and it should get lighter from there. That is also part of the problem, there is no detail to it. The rubber texture is low res, it looks faded which is why darker blacks would help and it looks painted on. Even if they kept the new painted on look and made the blacks deeper and the contrast higher, it would look more 3D. I don't see how you can disagree with this.

It doesn't have to be PERFECT NEXT GENERATION stuff. Nothing is. Ok... GoW. There I said it. Now. It does look good, but it was just as bad looking as Halo 2 when it came to loading the cinematics. Every time before they started, I would see tons of stuff rednered step by step before my eyes and say, "Yuck." That's not perfect. It does look good, but it's not perfect. And Next Generation isn't just defined by Graphics. It's also the gameplay value, the storyline, the type of story telling. Mak, as of now, the screenshots in the Gallery aren't up to date. I know a guy who's been on the Epsilon that says that everything is covered in over 3 layers of polish and shine. You keep looking BACK at the OLDER screenies, thinking, "That's final. It sucks." Just wait for the game to come out before judging anything! It's only a few weeks away.

Im going to have to agree with the TC. People may say that they just swapped this and that, or toned the lighting down, but the bottom line is, it doesn't look like the one they promised us. It doesnt look as good either. But, on the other hand.....Gameplay is what counts the most. So while they did lie to us, we may still be getting some awesome gameplay.

I like the part where he desaturated the colors and made the H3 Screenshots look dull. Well... actually, I hated it. Halo 3's colors are perfect as they are. I don't really care what teh Chief looks like since we're INSIDE HIS HELMET most of the time unless we die or there's a cinematic. "Mud" doesn't mix with Halo, but vibrant colors do because they define the world that you're playing in: a science fiction, action-adventure world. Come to think of it, some of the game screens look like scenes from a sci-fi graphic novel. And that's JUST how Halo should look.

I think the graphics are 100% perfect, and it if none of you dont like the graphics, Dont buy it, bungie aint gonna care. When im playing online in halo with my friends (and online co-op Thank you bungie) im going to have a fun time, im not gonna care about the grahpics, personally i think the graphics are better in mood then gears of wars Darker graphics.

But the problem with making them look too black is the fact that that will detract more from the 'realism' (loose term no flaming). If they used true black, there could be no detail to it. The contrast to the armour would be rediculous!

As of now all they have to do is figure out a way to show the detail from farther away, make the black parts of the suit darker and clearer and add metallic scratches. If they do that he might look just about perfect. All that we want is for him to look like an object not a low-res plastic texture.

Who cares. As long as the gameplay is better than H2 (read: more like H:CE) I'll be happy. The difference in level of detail will make no difference to me.

Why dont the people defending the game's graphics get the point. We want CHIEF to look better you stupid mother-blam!- retarded pieces of -blam!-. And since when does metal look black because all the scratches are glossy black not even close to the color of metal.
