It doesn't seem very logical at all to me.
Prohibition didn't keep alcohol out, in fact all it did was increase organized crime.
Same with the 'Drug War,' it's just increased organized crime, violence, and launched the US into the quite prestigious position of 'highest incarceration rate globally.' On top of that, it fails on what it's set out to do: Ban Drugs
Is the USA really so blind as to believe they can enforce it?
Does the USA really believe it can enforce Gun Control?
Does the government believe it can? Yes. Just like it believes it can rid the world of drugs, bring democracy to all countries, increase spending while not increasing taxes, cure childhood obesity with vegetables, and rid the world of violent crimes by banning "assault weapons".
-
All we need to do is more strictly enforce backround checks, along with requiring higher level licences to own assault weapons. The 2nd Amendment gives all citizens the right to get a hold of weapons that could form a well-armed militia. So long as citizens do their part, I believe they should have the opportunity to receive those weapons.

When there are drunk driving accidents, we raise the drinking age, increase penalties, launch propaganda campaigns, and increase law enforcement. Go ahead, look up the statistics for drunk driving. Its rapidly descending.
-
How is gun control and prohibition the same thing? Guns will never be outlawed completely.

I don't think the USA will be able to do anything or make any progress at this point. The government isn't really popular at this point and the citizens themselves aren't exactly the brightest bunch. I see more of the world progressing to where the USA is at now, and if they continue their pattern, the USA might drop as being the "most powerful" nation in the world.

4 RepliesI don't think that the USA believes that it can enforce true gun control. In fact, over half the country's families own some sort of gun. It's just that America has a lot of European-style liberals that think we can solve our shootings and problems by taking guns away from innocent civilians.

9 RepliesSince when does gun control = gun banning?

9 RepliesUnder Obama, the US will become socialist and white people will be discriminated against. Plain and simple. Part of this socialism will be him getting anther judge in the supreme court, so he can completely over-ride the constitution if anyone tries to challenge him.
-
1 ReplyHonestly, I can't even bear to talk about it anymore. Every newspaper, every news outlet, every TV channel is about guns.
-
1 ReplyThere is a difference between guns and alcohol/drugs. You don't run out of guns in the same way you run out of alcohol/drugs. Banning guns in the US is impossible. But high capacity magazines should be banned and ammunition should be regulated. And I recommend you watch the video. I don't agree with all the things TJ says but he makes some really good points.

This all comes down to the "Right to bear Arms" deal. They can enforce it but will people listen? Your parents always enforced that you go the speed limit, but do you always? I own a few shotguns and rifles for hunting but I know well enough not to go out and recreate that MW2 Airport mission.

12 RepliesOf course they know that they cant do anything. All of this new talk about gun control is nothing but talk. They wont get anything done.
-
13 RepliesThose are mine. Here in Georgia (and other southern states) it would be impossible to try to confiscate guns. My Sheriff even said he would not enforce any law that violates the 2nd amendment and would never give up his guns for any reason. Got to love the South.

Is the USA (or NRA, I don't know which name to use) really so blind as to believe they can enforce it?
NRA (National Rifle Association) is pro-firearms.
