Marathon 2: Durandal Video walkthrough-ish thingy [COMPLETED]
Well, the old adage goes that a picture is worth a thousand words. So I was thinking about doing some movies of Durandal to help people out. So how much is a movie worth? Recon's mum says hers are worth $19.99 for each vid with a option to cancel at any time. I think I'll make my walk through vids for free...
Alright, I know that Durandal can be a little confusing sometimes, and it's easy to get lost amongst the bright shiny Marathon goodness. So while I was playing today, I took the time to record everything. Typically the vids only show the quickest ways to get through the levels. They are by NO means complete walk-throughs. However, if you happen to get stuck on a certain part, come to this thread and download the chapter you need help with and maybe you'll find what you need.

Well as some of you may know that Mythica, the site I was using to host these videos went down a few months ago. So while I was at PAX this past weekend I ran into Louis Wu of Halo.Bungie.Org fame and asked about if he was able to salvage them before Mythica went under. He said he did, and so here they are!!!
All links should work 100% fine now. If you get a problem, feel free to post in the thread and I'll see what's going on. I downloaded the 1st and Last vid and both worked fine so I'm hoping the rest are the same.[/b][/i][/u]

usually when i get a new game i beat the whole thing on easy first so i get the storyline then i go back and beat it on the hardest difficulty and skip the cut-scenes.

I did that within 2 or 3 days. The problem really came in the conversion of it mpegs and then uploading it to Mythica. Most of the time I would multi-task and while I was "making" one vid, I'd be uploading the previous one. It took about a week and a half to get all of them done and uploaded to Mythica. It probably would have went quicker...but I was busy pushing Achilles into the lava pits on 10,000 feet under. I really wanted to make the vids because I played Cathedra for hours one night (actually with Achilles also) and we couldn't figure out what to do in the level. We seriously probably spent hours looking at where to hook the "chip" up to. And then......we learned there was also a "swim" button. Yeah, we were that bad. ~B.B.

You know that Bungie plans on building a giant slingshot in order to shoot their enemies into....the...sun!! OMGORZ!! Conspiracy! Sidenote, I just went to Mythica and saw that the vids have been downloaded over 1100 times now! I really want to reiterate my appreciation for Mythica.org for having a great place to upload vids to. ~B.B.

Dude am I the only person who is disturbed by that Osiris symbol? Also the last mission says all roads lead to SOL which is Latin and Spanish for SUN. PEQuest is a project currently being developed by a team led by tcsmyworld, the original creator of ProjectEQ. Based on an original spawn database, this server aims to be the most accurate recreation of the EverQuest servers ever created. [/quote] Don't really know why this is in my thread, but I'm a helpful guy so I'll answer your question. There will be no "official" clan support for Halo 3 like there was in Halo 2. There has been mention about "clan-like" functions on B.net. So, at this time, that's the best answer I can give you. There definitely won't be "clans" like in H2, but they might give you something through B.net that acts a lot like it. ~B.B.

Just wanted to say thanks for saving me time and frustration, i.e. swimming and purposefully jumping into lava. Would have took a lot of time and an act of shear idiocy to figure those out. Only two levels to go, but I'm going to take my time, so I have something to play till the 25th. I would have posted sooner but I had to spend a month or so standing in the corner for some unruly activity. [Edited on 09.19.2007 12:19 AM PDT]

I couldn't believe how simple and basic this game was till I played it. Its HARD to imagine that this is where it all started. But I give props where props are do.
