actually i saw the new screenie of the chief in the forest... those marines look pretty shnazzy, i wouldn't mind playing as them at all. i really don't care about the whole "they're weaker,shorter, and don't have shields" crap. its just a look. But that whole Elite thing will keep me from playing many online co-op games... i think they should AT LEAST add one more human to the bunch. To even things out, two humans, two elites. if any of you have read the novels, then surely you know of the spartan III's, they are cheaper than the spartan II's, but they lack shields, but their SPI armor (or E.V.A......) can make them invisible. I think that having two stealth peoples (SPI spartan and one of the elites i cant decide witch one..) and two regular guys the chief and witch ever other elite.

I cant believe what i just read, you've finally made it happen! I would have been more than satisfied with 2 players, but 4! Iv been waiting for this day since the Original Halo days, and finally all that waiting pays off. So glad i just pre-ordered my collectors edition :D

wait but if youre not online will it be squad based, i hope not, to me that would destroy the very thing that is halo i just wanna gab a Br in high def and kill stuff, i don't wanna worry about 3 other a.i characters too, it's fine if theyre there but i don't wanna have to tell them what to do all the time, as long as they stay outta my way and dont take the good weapons. Thank you Bungie!!!! You folks put your hearts and souls into this game and it shows! It scares me how much I love this game and with Halo 3? ...and on the 360? God help me! The only thing that could possible be better is if I helped in it's creation. What adds to the game greatly is the back story. I've read all the Halo novels and want more. For any of you Halo fans out there who haven't read them yet - it's a MUST READ!!! It adds so much more richness and dimension to the game.

I don't remember the last time I've been this excited about Halo news. I actually ran out into the living room and danced about merrily. Thank you, lukems, and a huge thank you to all the developers that made this crazy feat possible. Woot in the face.

My heart stopped when I read about the 4 player co-op but i must agree about the choice between elites and ODST's, i mean give em a shield beef them up a bit and that would be awesome! The outhouse smelled so bad even the flies wouldn't go near it. But returning to find that not only is there going to be co-op over Live, but 4 players!!! This is the greatest news I've ever heard from you guys. Best game in history of history, other people may challenge me, IDC. This means more than I can really ever say Bungie, and I wish my brain wasn't pudding right now due to 3 months of no school, then maybe I'd be able to come up with a more intelligent thank you. [b]Thank you Bungie[/b], everyone that works there, you people are great, and I gotta say sorry also for being such a jerk about the co-op over the last couple weeks. Now I must regain my composure. I like the idea of 4-player co-op, it has been something me and my friends have hoped would be in the game before last years E3 even showed the new Master Chief. I agree with others, Marines or possibly Spartans in the different armor would be cool, but the elites are cool too and I wouldn't mind giving up first player so I could play as one of them. You guys seem to have given this a lot of thought which is nice, because some games give you co-op people that when you think about it, don't make much sense to the storyline. I guess having two MC's in the first two games is an example, though it never bothered me that much, I just always thought it was a little awkward. G4 says this may be a turning point for games in the future. Maybe. I think it is, at least for shooters. We've always had 4-player co-op games, like that monster game whose name escapes me, where you have the giant lizard and ape and what not, roaming through the city destroying stuff, or like War of the Monsters. However, few shooters have such a feature, and this will definitely make Halo 3 stand out above the rest ( as though it doesn't do that already lol). If Star Wars: Republic Commando had had such a feature, it would have been a better game than it was, considering you have 4 AI on your team through most of the game, so why can't they be real people.
