Do you think you should be rewarded for winning no matter what the skill level of your opponent is? If you are a 45 and lose to 50's should you go down? The MM process is a balance of good matches and short wait times. It tries to find a match of closest skill first. If that fails, it then broadens the skill max and minimums. If you are upset about getting matched with lower skilled players or higher skilled players, set the option for closest skill by hitting the 'X'. You may wait longer to get a game but it may be worth it for you.
