How exacly did the sarge survive halo 1....SPOILERS

is that elite thats hugging him at the end of legendary on halo 1 the arbiter...if he survived halo 1's ring firing sequence . . . . . . . .. . . , would he survive halo 3's....? just something thats allways been bugging me

Yeah The Flood novel was very very boring. But the stuff not relating directly to the Chief was pretty good.
