The Full Halo Story Questions...

Hello everyone, You might think "What the -blam!-!?" when you see what I am about to ask here, but I'm still going to do it! ;D So a long story short, I would like to know the full Halo story. BAM! Don't get me wrong here, I already know some of it and I don't need to know the full detailed version but please just the most important parts, so I'll tell you what I know already, if you don't want to read this and just answer my questions scroll down! : So the Forerunners see the flood, they take DNA from every living creature and blow all planets up with the Halo rings. A long time later everything goes back to normal and somehow the flood survived? Then there is an army called UNSC and they decide to make a spartan army. For some reason this project gets cancelled 2 or 3 times but at last they keep making spartans. They train them while they are still kids on the planet reach. Then Reach gets attacked by the covenant because the prophets said that the humans talk -blam!- about the fore runners or something? For some reason there are only 7 spartans left noble 1 to 6 and master chief. (what happened in the mean time?) Reach falls and then halo combat evolved happens. In the end they manage to destroy the flood cause for some reason the whole flood is on this one planet and they blow it up with the halo ring. The prophets have been killed and the Covenant is not in war with the humans anymore (except for one small group that still believes in the prophets words and want to finish the task). So yeah... I know theres alot missing but like i said, i dont need the full detailed version. ----------------------------------------- So my questions are: 1. How did the flood survive the Forerunners' action with the Halo rings? 2. Why did the spartan creation got cancelled so many times? 3. Why didn't they make like a billion spartan soldiers? (or at least 100 while halo 1,2 and 3 were happening?) 4. Why did the covenant started the war with the humans again? 5. Why was the whole flood on that planet in the final mission of halo 3? Sorry for the weird topic but thanks for answering - Jeroen

 • If you want to read about Halo canon then read the Halo wiki.
Posted by: J To The Eroen So the Forerunners see the flood, they take DNA from every living creature and blow all planets up with the Halo rings. A long time later everything goes back to normal and somehow the flood survived?
The Forerunners did not blow up all of the planets, they simply destroyed all living things in the galaxy. The Forerunners had Flood spores preserved on the Halo rings for studying.
Then there is an army called UNSC and they decide to make a spartan army. For some reason this project gets cancelled 2 or 3 times but at last they keep making spartans. They train them while they are still kids on the planet reach.
The UNSC is not an army, it is a central government. A section called ONI created the Spartan I project because of the current rebellion. Unfortunately the Spartan I project failed and was disbanded. However the Spartan II project was a success. The Spartan III project was put into effect near the end of the war in an effort to defeat the Covenant by sheer numbers. The Spartan IV project was created after the events of Halo 3, not much is known yet.
Then Reach gets attacked by the covenant because the prophets said that the humans talk -blam!- about the fore runners or something?
Reach gets attacked very late in the war. The war started in 2525, and ended in 2552. Reach was attacked in the year 2552. Here is a direct quote from the wiki on why the war was started.
Unknown to all but the highest echelons of leadership, the campaign to exterminate Humanity was an attempt by the Prophets to maintain political and religious power. In truth, the Prophets had discovered Forerunner objects that the Luminary revealed on Harvest were actually Humans (which the Prophets interpreted as meaning that the Humans were descendants of the Forerunner, or possibly surviving Forerunner). Initially, the Covenant interpreted the glyph from the luminary as "Reclamation". The Forerunner AI 05-032 Mendicant Bias revealed that the interpretation was incorrect: the glyph meant "Reclaimer". The Prophets Regret and Truth realized that if the Humans were Forerunners, then it was possible to be left behind when the prophesied Great Journey occurred. This stood in direct contradiction to the Covenant religion. The Hierarchs, recognizing that this truth would destroy the Covenant, declared war on Humanity, hoping the truth would perish with their newly-declared foe.
It was a simple act to keep Truth as the leader and the Covenant intact.
For some reason there are only 7 spartans left noble 1 to 6 and master chief. (what happened in the mean time?) Reach falls and then halo combat evolved happens.
There are many Spartans left during the course of the Halo trilogy. They are not mentioned in game though. Noble team was not the only group of Spartans at the time, Reach housed many Spartans, the world Onyx was creating Spartan IIIs at the time of Halo 3.
In the end they manage to destroy the flood cause for some reason the whole flood is on this one planet and they blow it up with the halo ring.
At the end of Halo 3 you destroy the local Flood infestation. The Flood originally came from outside the galaxy and is still in parts of the galaxy at the end of Halo 3. The planet you are referring to is Installation 00, the Ark. It is not a planet.
The prophets have been killed and the Covenant is not in war with the humans anymore (except for one small group that still believes in the prophets words and want to finish the task).
The 3 High Prophets are killed which throws the Covenant out of balance. The Covenant split up into multiple factions. Some at peace with humanity, and some who still believe in the Great Journey.
1. How did the flood survive the Forerunners' action with the Halo rings?
The Forerunners kept samples of the Flood on the Halo installations for studying.
2. Why did the spartan creation got cancelled so many times?
Only the Spartan I project was canceled, because ONI didn't have the proper research and technology.
3. Why didn't they make like a billion spartan soldiers? (or at least 100 while halo 1,2 and 3 were happening?)
The idea of the Spartan program was to create a super soldier, the perfect soldier. The candidates of the Spartan II project were chosen because of their near-perfect genes. This was only 300 candidates, and only about 70 survived augmentation. The Spartan III and IV project would recruit adults and children. Making Spartans is also very expensive and time consuming. It takes a very long time to train Spartans.
4. Why did the covenant started the war with the humans again?

Unknown to all but the highest echelons of leadership, the campaign to exterminate Humanity was an attempt by the Prophets to maintain political and religious power. Why was the whole flood on that planet in the final mission of halo 3?
The Flood arrived on the Ark in a ship called High Charity. High Charity is a Covenant ship that contains the Covenant holy city. The Flood managed to infect the ship and take it over. [Edited on 10.04.2012 10:34 AM PDT]
