Halo 3 Campaign Screenshot Inside

lets start speculating about the location. My thoughts: This is the Himalaya. Definitely. (assuming its on earth) the combination of the tropical forests and the snowy mountains in the back is unique. Moreover, the himalaya seems like a possible location considering the plot. The covenant are finding forerunner artifacts on earth. These are old, so the locations have to be old and stable. Not like europe, for example. The himalaya is great for this. close to some of the earliest civilizations (Sumerian, Babylonian, Indian). i can imagine the forerunners went there.

damn that looks good... but what is this about a spartan lookin back at the chief. i vaguely see it but it could be a coincidence... what does everyone else think? ya gears of war looked great but we cant judge halo 3 vs. gears of war with one pic... ok yes we can... HALO 3 WILL BE THE BEST GAME EVER... EVER... AND YOU KNOW DIS... MAN!!

...And people actually thought Gears of War was stunning... This picture alone puts them in the dust. Bungie, if time was a dimension, I would sprint right through it (to September at least) pick up my pre-order, and then go back to 7/7/07 to play it.

Can't you see that it is a spartan that is reflected in his visor? http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/1439/chiefga1.jpg If you look at the image from that link, and then take a look at the screenshot, you'll se that it is a spartan. I'm quite convinced however. [Edited on 07.06.2007 11:12 AM PDT]

Wow!!! I mean WOW!!!! I'd heard the rumors but this screen shot confirms it......In halo 3 the Master Chief becomes a MOUNTIE!!! I guess now he's the only thing standing between the covenant and Canada. But he always gets his Grunt :)

well all i can say is that there is fire in the background of his shield and on the right of his sheild the sun is rising or setting and if u look off into the mts. in the right of chief there is dark smoke from a fire.

you are absolutly right gears and halo are great games but there gameplay and tactics are diffrent but both games get a 10/10 and halo is not going to be a "Gears Killer" it is probably going to take the top selling game but gears will be remebered and the best 3rd person shoot to relese on the 360.

I dont see why people call this a gears killer. Halo is better than Gears in every way but Gears is also a -blam!- amaizing game. its good we can have both.

I see nothing wrong with it, it looks amazing. And the in-game screenshot cameras take the pic at the resolution the game is running at. In this case, it's 720p HD. And yes, Crysis does look awesome, but it's all in the visual style. Crysis is going for realistic, Gears is going for dark and gritty, and Halo is going for a more cartoony feel with lots of reflections, etc.
