Society of the Ancients: 206.16.223.63

After doing a reverse whois on 206.16.223.65, it was found that all IPs in the range 206.16.223.0 - 206.16.223.255 are owned by Microsoft. So i started trying different IPs in that range, and so far, I have only found this one: Society of the Ancients (206.16.223.63). Discuss. • So...did Bungie just confirm that the Forerunner are not humans, but are the ones who came here about 100,000 years ago and boosted us into the "right" direction of evolution?

 • On the Society of the Ancients website. Have you noticed it References both Ockhams Razor and a Quote from Sir Isaac Newton. Wonder if those will come into play in the future. "I was like a boy playing on the sea-shore and diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me." - Isaac Newton

 •
Posted by: Vigilent24 Hey jmh9072, I woulnd't be surprised if this was part of the halo 3 viral campaign. This site definitely loks like another ilovebees.com
Yeah, this really looks like it's part of it. MS owns the IP Address, so this is pretty much confirmed that it is.
Posted by: THE ANNOYED BOY
Posted by: shyndy "I was like a boy playing on the sea-shore and diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me." - Isaac Newton I find this newton quote very interesting. It seems to be saying both that in science/space there is alot yet to be discovered, but within the context of this arg it cries out to us that there is much much more to come, that this is a mere pebble and we soon will be jumping to the next seashell, and the next. But that then the "great ocean of truth" we will soonbe come aware of, making these little parts meaningless in comparison?
good work, i get a feeling you might be right,,,
Yeah, that looks like a valid analysis. Good job. Can anyone confirm that this is an actual Newton quote? I'm just wondering... EDIT: Yeah, I just looked it up, and it is. [Edited on 06.15.2007 9:22 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Elaxel Terra Great Job! I see you have been utilizing my IP Searcher. If anyone needs this go to the unofficial Halo3 ARG thread
No, actually I just randomly changed 65 to 63 and got lucky... Afterwards, I made a script that searched all IPs from 206.16.223.0 - 206.16.223.255 using wget. I found a lot of other MS sites, mostly for different video games. I'm still going through them, and I'll report anything I find. EDIT: BTW, my thread was posted a few hours before you posted that in the other thread. [Edited on 06.15.2007 9:21 AM PDT]

 • ok, the transmission log clock is not that complicated after all. yes the seconds start a 113 and go down from there but if count with it as it goes, 113,skips a bunch of numbers and then 0. the countdown actually = 60 sec. because it skips numbers, 113 - 110 then jumps to 106, every time it reaches a multiple of 10 it jumps down to the next lowest 6. so then after 106, 105, 104 103, 102, 101, 100, then a big jump to 66, 65, 64, 63, 62, 61, 60, then 56. so there is no huge equation u have to work through to get the date, which i think is the 21st (which happens to be the beginning of the summer solstice) ... the numbering could have some other purpose for another part of this arg but this part is simple. It wasn't a random person via a random IP, it was somehow vaguely related to the halo 3 website (.65 is the last one in that branch that has any services running, so naturally that got found first)

 • re-cap. 1. AR changes his symbol. 2. Comic is found on halo3.com. 3. ON the comic three numbers are revealed. 4. when these three numbers are combined in ip address format we are taken to societyoftheancients.com 5. When you look under the evidence section, at the bottom, AR's new symbol is pictured on a stone in Tanzania. 6. When you go to his blog on myspace you find he knew about this society of ancients well before today, and at the bottom you see a covenant symbol translator. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=1000322121&blogID=275828355&MyToken=f0fb1955-3aaf-4573-a518-b1d2d8d72c59
