• Bungie, I have just one thing to add this update about all the little details, -don't forget to throw in a couple of left handed marines; that would be really cool and subtle, but huge for lefties who notice it. its one thing that has always p/o'ed me a little is that there are never any npc's who are lefties in any of the shooter games I've played.

 • That is ausome to hear that D.A.M.N, FX are actually working on the animation, especially Emillio Ghorayeb, I love his work, he has done/is doing some great work at ubisoft, we can thank him for some great fx. I would think that Emillio would rather be working with Softimage's XSI rather than Maya, but Maya is good too, I saw his interview with Jean-Eric Henault and it was pretty cool, and the Face Robot tutorial he got from Dilip Singh. Boy if face robot was used in production for halo 3... I know it is already magnificent but man.. that would be just soo much better... maybe thats the surprise... U guys have infinite means to keep me anticipated for that game... come out with it already!!!

 • so thats one of the cutscenes from H3? thats cool I really like how they decide to use the games engine instead of CG for cutscenes

 •
Posted by: MrPinke7103 This all seems good and well. It's good to see bungie calling in reinforcements to make sure this thing is ready this time. I'd hate to see another cinematic have that fill in factor to the length we saw in halo 2. Actually speaking of which will halo 3 try to bring that effort of no loading screens to fruitition or will they settle for a few seconds of load screens? Personally I'm rooting for loading screens as they give a little bit of a sometimes needed breather in between phases while you can think over the events of the last level/ cinematic before facing whatever is about to be slammed into your face in the next. As for what that still shot of a cinematic has shown. Wow, just wow, I really hope halo 3 has at least one really fun shooting gallery style sniper match. Seeing the Chief flying in via pelican with a sniper rifle in hand really gives me hope for just that.
I agree with you about the loading screens. I always liked them in Halo 1, and if they make the game load more smoothly, that's even better.

 •
Posted by: Senor Leche I proudly admit that I am a campaign whore. Come September I look forward to sweet relief. *Le Sigh* Reminder (to Wootguy) - Since I don't work for Bungie I'm just as curious as you all to see how this story ends. :)
Wow, finally a familiar face/avatar. I hardly ever cruise the forums these days, though I'm picking the habit back up and find myself missing old regulars like Iceman. Anybody seen 'im? Lukems: Thanks for this particular write-up! Halo is a wonderful and engrossing epic, absolutely legendary (excuse the pun). It is a pleasure reading about the efforts, internal and external, that are working bring us the final chapter.

 • Interesting. BTW if anyone else has trouble with the impromptu style of the autor's introduction to a storyline, do what I regularily do: Read from the last paragraph on upwards. Suddenly everything seems to fall in place and make perfect sense, chronologically speaking ;^) -PG p34c3

 • "In the third season of FX's excellent cop drama The Shield, a foil to Vic Mackey's Strike Team showed up. The Decoy Squad. Every bit as qualified as the Strike team, the Decoy squad stuck around for a few episodes and ultimately worked with the Strike team. Not so much the Decoy Squad, Emilio Ghorayeb, the animation supervisor for a group of special operatives working at Bungie, compares his folks to a television show of his own choosing: The A Team." Very Cool! U guy's & gil's most love you job?

 • WAIT A SEC!!!! Doesn't anyone remember something being said along the lines(see last post on page 3) of In-Game cinematics. Where the cinematic takes over during game play and releases control as you continue to play. I mentioned Call of Duty because that game is similar to what I was expecting in Halo 3. Just in case someone doesn't understand, go read my example. You may not like it but it is the way it would function that is they key point. I don't see how cutscenes or cinematics could be made any better than to be in-game during game play. The whole finish the board and then watch the scene is old news and old period. Wouldn't it have been nice to have them happen during the boards at some point and have them be slightly different depending on your path. It wouldn't be complicated but it would give the game a fresh, innovative flow. I was thinking maybe the repeating scene is the marking on the MC's Facemask interacting with Halo's systems. Well since that shape is on his facemask and the Halo ring floors it could happen. :) [Edited on 06.13.2007 6:41 AM PDT]
