halo glassing planets question
when the covenant glass the planets in the books what is the glass like? (sorry i dont really kjnow how to phrase the question) what i mean is that it isnt just normal glass like in our windows is it? or is it some kind of superheated plasma hardened into glass? i looked on halopedia but i couldnt find anything :) could anybody help?
oh and also i didnt really know wht forum to post this in sorry

Yes, I do remember the NOVA bomb. It destroyed some of my homeplanet, Joyous Exultation. It is a powerful weapon indeed, maybe enough to even be feared.

The covanant fly capitol ships in a grid around the planet bombarding every square inch with plasma until everything melts and hardens into glass. One of the few times when covanant tech is inferior to human, as humans have the NOVA bomb, a bunch of nukes clustered together with a (I think) lithium center that magnifies the blast of all of the nukes. The explosion can crack a planet in half.

Like how you can turn sand into glass with hot heat. It is probably still molten (orange glow) and charred at parts though. So no...definately not clear.

It means that the cov fried the surface of a planet with plasma and it turned it melted every thing so it kinda turne to glass.

yep, as the sand and soil melts it turns into a moltan mix which will harden into a glass-like substance. I'd imagine it would cool to something like Obsidian (volcanic glass) [url=http://www.drexel.edu/coe/enggeo/rocks1/obsidian.JPG]Pic[/url]

yes its real glass, but just like glass in stained glass windows and glass ornaments it doesnt always have to be clear.

It's the use of plasma to destroy all life on a planet. Like Nuking, but using Plasma from Capital ships etc.

I don't think they actually mean "glass" such a window glass. It's just a term they use when the Covie use their plasma to burn up all the planets resources and atmosphere
