Myth: The Fallen Lords and Myth II: Soulblighter

Myth: The Fallen Lords and Myth II: Soulblighter are some of my all time favourite games and it’s time to pay little homage to another of Bungie’s Greatest Hits. This howto intends to assist the reader in getting a copy of Myth, and getting the most out of the experience. However, I am not a fountain of myth lore by any standards – I would appreciate any assistance, pointers, corrections and help that you guys can give.
This Guide is broken into 8 sections, and due to the character limits enforced on posts, I’ve had to place each chapter in their own post. The chapters are:

Thermostate - I didn't see any responses posted for your questions, so I apologize if I'm going over something someone else already answered within the past two months. 1. I think it's generally tough to make strategic decisions at the start of the level. The basics are always true: take the high ground, hit them without letting them hit you, be ready to move at a moments notice. 2. Whether or not your targeting enemies depends upon (and I'm sure someone better than me will correct me here) what the situation is. Generally, you target specific enemies with archers and dwarves; it makes them more effective. With melee troops, you should target individuals, but ...and this is where I could be wrong...in a large fight (which you should always try to avoid) you put the troops **near** the enemy, and let them do their thing. OR target once, then don't micromanage, except to retreat. Those are two things I've heard; never have been able to get them to work well. Most of all, know you're troops, know they're strengths, how they move, how fast they move, and what their current vet levels are. And if you don't want to play the levels over and over too many times, you can get some practice in multiplayer (though games can be hard to get, these days...though things may pick up if more Halo folks start getting into it).

Hey guys. This is my first post in this forum so I'd like to say what an honor it is to be amongst you. I'd also love to say how much I love this game! Sticky Myths is the best! I'd also love to give a shout out to my homies, Biggie and 'Pac. Keep up the good guys work. Jehovah is watching. O_o

I am an old school Myth player from day 1 of Myth : TFL through Myth 2 , and continued to play until the release of Halo PC. I am a former 6 time comet (#1 in world) and was on the original Lore of Comet created by bungie back in the day. It almost bring tears to my eyes thinking back to the times when Myth was in control of my life, I would skip school to play myth, I dedicated my entire summer when i was 14 to play myth. i can't even say how many all nighters that game made me do. It is the best game ever created in my opinion, the way the online play worked was way ahead of its time and it was a sad day to have bungie sell the rights to the franchise because I think with bungie's power now days they coulod recreat it somehow and make it a huge seller via xbox 360; although the controls would be difficult to do with a controler I feel there has to be a way. I will continue to wait for the ressurection of Myth, even though most likely it wint happen. I feel honored to say I was apart of the prime days of Myth and Myth 2 and will never forget it; for me I could say it was a life changing experience. Thanks Bungie for the memories. skippy gtm

Hello Thermo, When controlling your units it is best to use what you think is the best formation line i.e. the numbers 1-9. After placing your units in position you can leave them on their own and they will auto attack when the enemy gets close enough, however this strat woulda be useful when you go against souless or archers or a dwarf because the range of their attacks would kill you before your units would auto move. In order to be a master of the game you have to keep practicing and learn to multi task with your units and you can do this easily by setting your unit presets. Say you select 6 Bezerks, well with them highlighted hold alt then select the number 1-9 that you want that preset , so then when engaged in battle you can quickly select that group and attack. Also say your in a battle, 8 of your Warriors vs 10 Thrall, as they are fighting in order to kill in a more effecient way then letting them auto fight try select like 2 of your warriors and click on a single thrall and continue to do this with your men while they are in battle and you will notice the speed at which your men win the fight. If youd like any more help, I am willing to give you advice. I am a former 6 time #1 in the world (comet) back in the prime myth days 97-00. Ive also been in top 10 of MWC 4 times on well known teams. Have fun bye.

More Mythers is always a good thing. Now, if only MWC06 had a TO. It needs planning early if it is to happen - last year's sucked cuz of lateness and delays. Current possible TOs are Paris in Flames, Asmodian and (I guess) Grim since he came back could. Mad Dog said he'll do it if no one else would, but he won't after all the -blam!- he got given for MWC05 (I also have yet to forgive him for deliberately trying to kill my team). Anyone able to help with a prize or with TO-work should get posting away on playmyth.net and m2sbtourney.com getting it ready as soon as possible :O

Have you hated getting "Bridged" out of a game. Have you ever just wanted to strangle the kid that bridged you. I just had my first real myth experience......wow....just wow..... Sure I thought it was quirky....but after I got the hang of it....I don't think there is a greater pleasure in the world than being high atop a wall with only a dwarf, some explosives, and a dozen targets below. The strategy...the skill.......the real world game mechanics... I positioned my archers high on the wall in I"nto the Breach", and sent a scout out to lure the guards by the gate into range....my archers annihilated them....it was a perfect rush from the hour I had spent trying to get it right... it was beautiful watching it all fall into place..... and the humor....."you don't just eat the worlds biggest turnip" I am Definently buying this game!
