Matchmaking Playlist Update
Originally we indicated that this week was our target for updating the Halo 2 Xbox Live matchmaking playlists and resetting all player rankings. We are holding this update while we investigate and fix some of the Xbox Live download problems that people have been reporting.

You all need to calm down. Bungie does not directly make any money from playlist updates, but they do put in several hours creating new playlists and testing them - for us. We have no right whatsoever to complain. If Bungie feels the need to delay the playlists then that is their business, and they owe us no explanation. Remember who brought us Halo 1, 2, and 3? It was Bungie. Give them some slack.

This is why Bungie and MS should have only released the new maps on xbox live marketplace like they wanted to do in the first place! Then again I may only be saying that because I'm pretty pissed off mad that Bungie hasn't added the two new maps into some form of a matchmaking play list by now like they said they would :( Why can't Bungie just throw up a PREVIEW play list that includes the two new maps into an unranked matchmaking play list for those of us who have the maps and are wanting to play in matchmaking instead of on half empty maps???

One final weekend to enjoy true Big Team Battle (that's 8 versus 8). Removing BTB Skirmish 8 vs.8 from the playlist will be a sad event. H2 made large 8 vs. 8 objective games practical. Before H2, you had to endure the logistics of LAN parties or Xbconnect. The reason I signed up for Halo five years ago was the 8 vs. 8 CTF BG matches that could last an HOUR or more. Even more amazing were the Halo 1 8 vs. 8 matches over Xbconnect. Yes, those could occur without lag if everyone was nearby or if someone had a fiber connection.

Still can't download it to my 360... Never have been able to... Had to get the original bonus map pack from a disk, because it wouldn't download. Please fix

I'm having the same problems people already mentioned trying to download them to my 360... :( I'm willing to pay for them but I can't get them!

why is it that you as in bungie need to reset the players ranks. In do so its going to cause more cheating in matchmaking, making the game in which i love to play a pain in the Ass cause to every little kid that gets on want to have his symbol back they have lost. So all i get is CHEATED!. One anther suggestion is you need to make duplicates of team snips and slayer that are unranked so you can play with more than one person on your xbox. This allows ppl that love slayer and snips to share the fun without being in a ranked game and they know what type of game there going yo playt instead of teamtraing games. Team trains is stupid in fact the NO ONE LIKE OBJECTIVE GAMES THEY JUST WANT TO KILL PEOPLE. Thank you your most liable gamer MELTED JADE [Edited on 04.25.2007 11:25 PM PDT]

haha, right, next week huh? you people watch; next week's going to come rolling along and they're going to say that they're holding off on the update for yet another week. It's Bungie, what do you expect? And to the people who don't have the maps, that is unfortunate, even though you're really not missing out on much with Desolation. On the other hand, i do really enjoy Tombstone, except for that stupid death field that prevents you from getting outside of the map. But, anyway, we'll just have to wait and see if Bungie holds up on their plans this time, eh?

Bungie you freakin idiots! This company constantly misses deadlines. What a bunch of losers. Why would you even think of announcing a date for a reset when you don't even have things in proper order for a reset. Hopefully you guys clean house and pay professionals maybe even before halo 3 comes out. However pathetic it is that there are so many people (myself included) that are waiting around for the reset like bunch of dope fiends, it is no comparison to how stupid Bungie looks whenever they miss EVERY SINGLE date that they ever announce. I am not angry with Frankie the spokespersonality or these site moderators. This is directed at the actual screw ups that are missing the deadline and put out updates and maps that aren't compatible for all paying customers. The people still playing Halo are your most prized customers and you should treat us like it. Don't talk down to us, lie to us, and especially ban us for some idiot on your end leaking Zanzibar and us wanting to chat about it and show people because we love your game. You guys can make a great game but your customer service and decision making skills are horrendous. They could atleast reset the stats... it aint like they cant reset the stats if they dont update the playlists so they should reset the stats now so the game is pretty balanced for when the maps do go into matchmaking.

[/quote] so last time i checked; Portland, Oregon wasn't Kazahkstan. Yea you might have had the same problem as "us" but when i reset my xbox, it was more like -boom- nothing happened. I have tried everything that people have told me, i reset the damn cache 3 times, looked in the memory for the incomplete/corrupted download and its not even there. I definitely have a valid CC because i use it all the time. And under the picture of the maps it says that i've purchased them, but in Xbox Live's computers, it says that i havent and it doesnt show up in my bank account either. I even made a silver account, but that was a dumb idea to begin with. So for the 99% of the halo community that can't play them, my bad, even though its not anything that i did.

Doesn't matter to me now. My 360 just happened to break down a few days ago and I just sent it to the repair shop yesterday. So I won't be able to play any of my levels out anymore because I can't get on XBL. Oh well..

Just wondering because my $4 meant just as much to me as it most likely meant to you, so I would like to get to play these maps also (but can't if Bungie does not get the issues corrected). Make a team preview like suggested before so those that want to play the games in match making can do so in un-ranked games and keep the maps out of the other play lists until you can correct these issues so all that paid (or at least 90%) can play.

I have the Halo edition XBox and cannot download the new maps. Or at least it looks like I did download them but then an error pops up. Hope that helps the team. Thanks Bungie - keep up good work; don't get down.
