New Halo 2 Maps Revealed!
At last we reveal the two downloadable Halo 2 maps coming later this year. And no, it's not an April Fool's. Screens and info inside.

Holy sweet mother of God! I've never played any good Halo CE matches, so I guess this is as good as it gets for me. anyway, seeing as these are also for the Xbox, i'd assume that there's more on the way?

at the people complaining about credit cards... uh, are you all silver users? if you just have a regular xbox just ask your parents if you can charge $4 to the card....?

So when you log in on your other box all you have to do is redownload them. At least that's what KP says.

Well, now Bungie can give us a new playlist called, "Classic," or something along those lines. It would consists of all gametypes, & all the remade Bungie game maps (Halo 1/Marathon). Maps: Elongation (Slayer, Oddball, Multi-flag, CTF Shotguns, Crazy King, Snipers) Coagulation ( Multi-flag, Neutral Bomb, Slayer, Covie CTF, Snipers) Beaver Creek (Multi-flag, oddball, Crazy King, Multi-bomb, Neutral Bomb) Tombstone (Slayer, Multi-flag, CTF Rockets, Snipers, SWAT, Oddball, Crazy King, 1-flag CTF) Desolation (CTF Shotguns, Multi-flag, Oddball, Snipers, Crazy King, Neutral Bomb, Slayer) Warlock (CTF Shotguns, Multi-flag, Oddball, Neutral Bomb, Multi-bomb, Crazy King) Gemini (Crazy King, Oddball, 1-flag, Snipers, Slayer, Rockets, Single Bomb) Foundation (Slayer, CTF Rockets, Snipers, SWAT, Oddball, Multi-flag, Crazy King) ^^^^^ *Slayer-Includes FFA, Team, BR starts, ect

I just peed my pants when I happened to glance across Hang Em' High. And then it just got better when I read that it was going to be available as an original xbox download. I just can't wait for the new maps! I love you guys at bungie!!!!!!!!

[/quote] These aren't just reskins - considering each map has to be completely rebuilt from the ground up (because of the graphics engine) consideration must be taken for the fact that the gameplay is also extremely different and must be compensated for. I imagine that this is not just a mapmaking process, but also a very intense testing process. I would like to believe that they've learned from past issues and have tried to eliminate, or at least reduce, the gliches that allow folks to superbounce, etc. I think the crew at Certain Affinity have done a great job at picking up Bungie stuff and creating an enjoyable and killtastic experience.

They were used as a way to promote their then-new show "Future Weapons." Clearly that promotion worked.

[/quote]I'm not [i]thrilled[/i] about having to pay for them, but I'm not upset in any way. They're new maps for Halo 2; I'm there. This is exactly how the first two map packs were released. Microsoft Points didn't exist and they had to be downloaded using Halo 2, just like these. I would imagine that you can wait a few months and these too will be free, probably after the Halo 3 Beta comes out. No one is holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy these additional maps. In fact, I would imagine that you can still play Halo 2 online to your heart's content using the existing maps. This is an optional upgrade ... [i]for $4[/i]. Honestly, I'm surprised they're still bothering with a 2½ year-old title.

Thank God those maps are for the original XBox too... I mean how can you make new maps for the 360 only for an XBox game? I wonder how soon the new maps will be in matchmaking...
