Hey all when I first got my 360 a couple months ago, I was used to playing H2 on my buddies' XBoxs, and when I first played on the 360, it seemed to be very slow and choppy. Is there a reason for this? would it be because the game was not intended for the 360? because I thought the 360 had plenty of processing power.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Thanks
edit: I'm talking mostly about multiplayer split screen, but I notice it on campain and live as well

"While the first Xbox's graphics processing unit was produced by NVIDIA, the Xbox 360 uses a chip designed by ATI called Xenos. The chip was developed under the name "C1" and "R500" was often used to refer to it." - Baumann, Dave (2006-06-13). ATI Xenos: XBOX 360 Graphics Demystified Wikipedia Rules The NVIDIA and ATI chips are fundamentally different in architecture. It's kind of like running Windows programs on a Pre-Intel Mac. The extra layer of emulation adds latency and CPU time to each drawn frame. They can only optimize the emulator so much... And that'll take time. They can't just release an update to Halo 2, because that would open up the entire game to modification.

It's even worse in splitscreen. Yes the 360 does have more power, but the thing is the game is being run through an emulator because it is a original xbox game. This slows it down. Hopefully they will sort it out in the emulator update.

Yeah, when I first got my 360 the frame rate would be ridiculously slow only on collosus. I have no idea why, and it was only that map, only in matchmaking. Very weird as far as I'm concerned. It hasn't happened recently, however it used to happen every time I played that map. Sorry I have no suggestions for you, but I have experienced similar issues. [Edited on 3/19/2007]
