Special Q&A Today!
For this week's update, Frankie and I are going to take questions from the field and answer them online in a psuedo real-time chat format using the Bungie.net forums. Things are bound to get a little hectic but we think it will be fun.
The first thing we need people to do is ask questions! You can do that in the news forum - easily accessible by clicking the "discuss this story" link at the bottom of this page.
Before you ask your questions, keep these points in mind:
1. NO QUESTIONS ABOUT CAMPAIGN or the STORY! (we won't even acknowledge these questions)
2. Don't spam and ruin this for everyone. We'll be banning people.
3. Questions about life inside Bungie, the final crunch, Alta's haircut, the Beta, etc.. are all fair game.
[b]At approx. 2:00 PM PDT Frankie and I will login to the New Mombasa forum and start answering questions that have been posted to this thread.[/b]
We'll hang out for an hour or so and have some fun. =)

how much better is the shield on mark VI than on mark five?

Is there going to be a way in multiplayer to choose which weapons u can have in the game, like lets say i just wanted to take the rocket launcher out and leave the others in. Is that possible..... And is there a way to take the goodies out like the overshield and camo. If not there definetely should be a way to take those out for your own gametypes.

What kind of synths does Marty have in his rig? Kurzweil.. Access.. Waldorf? Also, does he record straight to hard disk? And what program(s) does he use to work his magic, sequencing or otherwise ( i assume pro tools).

Hello, let frank get some sleep! On a more realistic note, my question is simple. Will there be an ability to switch proximity voice over to the white button and have team dialogue be unbuttoned? ha ha, I made a joke! thanks for all the hard work.

Hey guys, gotta say i like your idea for this week's update. Now that you guys are so close to the wire, what are the things you guys are tweaking? Are damage values for weapons and all that basically set in stone? Are there any features in danger of being cut? One more specific question (if you can answer): What stats specifically will be tracked on b.net for Halo 2? Will things like melee kills or kills with a particular weapon or vehicle be tracked? What is the first thing ya'll are (Bungie people) going to do when the game is relesed? I hope to see some of the bungie team waiting on live for their first fans to sign on live, and then i hope to get mine handed to me by ya'll bungie.

I think I could own you frankie, I dont know about sketch, cause he's good! Are we going to see more media (like movies), but when? Was Ilovebees.com dont by Bungie? In the special edition pack how long is the current movie time? Would be seeing master chief in a movie? The new pistol, how many head shots does it take to kill someone? In Halo 2, where will most multiplayer maps be set?[/b]

Ok...Will there be downloadable content? If so, how much? What will us poor people without Xbox Live and no friends do in multiplayer? How much stress has the crunch put on you guys? Are you happy that you're almost done? Can there be a huge "Bungie: Don't make us kick your ass." sign in New Mombasa? And finally, can you send me a copy of Halo 2 early? ;)

Allright...................in the beta how did the carbine fire was it one pull of the trigger is one shot like the BR in scope mode or is it some kind of automatic. How many headshots does it take from a pistol to kill someone now. Does the Plasma pistol still have overcharge and if so how much of the shield does it take down in one overshot?

my question is about the ranking system. will there be a top to bottom ranking? (i.e. who's ranked 1st in the world, 2nd, 3rd and so on...) or will there be just a rating system (i.e. so and so is a 1/50 being the lowest and a 50/50 being the highest?)

Are the "clan symbols" going to be only be made from the resources you give us, or will you be able to make custom ones? Is the weapon selection going to be completely customizable for multiplayer games (i.e. like perfect dark)? Are you down to simply testing the game? Can we expect downloadable content within a month of the game's release? 2 months? 6? What are the plans for D/C? Weapons, maps, and/or something cooler....? You guys are the most dedicated and hardest working team I've ever heard of. Without giving me the BS about drive and determination, let's cut to the chase: what kind of profit sharing plan are you guys in for? Are we talking houses and sports cars for everyone? George Lucas shared his profits from the first Star Wars movie. All his employees who worked on the movie got around $5-million in bonuses. Is that cool or what?!

Since vehicles are able to be destroyed, will they respawn in multiplayer or are they gone forever? Also, are there any major hurdles left for you guys to overcome in regards to either multiplayer or singleplayer? Thanks! The effort you guys put forth every day is very much appreciated. --CT

I'm just curious how serious you two are. It must be (serious) with Hawaiian vacation plans and all. Maybe Frankie will pop the big question. But anyway, My question: Nades - Capacity, still 4 conventional and 4 Covenant? Finally, when the project is complete, what is the first thing you will do in your spare time? (sleep, watch TiVo'd episodes of Will and Grace, play steamy racquetball, etc.)
