I've finished the third video tutorial (This is the first one done. I have to go back and finish the other two). The video deals with making the base model for your game character. Here are the video details:
Encoded with XviD
1 hour 5 minutes long
740 MB in file size
Download (Left Cick)
Simply open the link, and right click "save file/target as" the link called "Unknown" (under play/download on the left hand side).
Hope you guys learn something from this! :)
P.S. - In this video I don't go over the basics in 3ds max. I'm working on that right now, and that will be the second video tutorial. The first being one teaching to color your concept art.
Posted by: Mike Jensen
Posted by: Rambo IIII Do you work somewhere that has that program? Last I checked, 3D Studio Max costs at least $3k for a licenced copy.
Nope. I lucked out though because my dad uses it at work for drafting. They gave him a copy to work at home. So, YES! The other programs I'm afraid I had to buy. Bummer.
Thats pretty awesome. Well nice work, keep it up, I'm sure it will help land you a job with a developer somewhere.

Hey guys. So I finished the real model that I plan to sculpt. I haven’t begun sculpting anything, but I will right after this post. Just keeping you guys updated. I figured I’d throw out a few images, but these are super low poly, and nothing too special. It just shows the form I plan to use. The new one differs from the concept sculpt. I did away with the infection form on the back, and I also didn’t show his bone on his right leg. I plan to put pants on him is the reason for that. I didn’t want to exactly follow Bungie’s model. I used a rule of thumb for deciding how the tentacles were going to grow. I read that the other limbs get pushed aside for the growth of infected ones. This kind of reminded me of necrosis like PCD, where the parasite has the host defenses kill the healthy tissue to make room for the parasite. That’s why for his left leg, you see that it’s bent back and away. He can’t actually walk on that food, but that doesn’t matter because the parasite grew some tentacles that can substitute for a foot. He can walk on them instead. I think the rest is self explanatory! Anyways on to sculpting, so here’s the images: http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t290/elitemodel2/fim_base_front.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t290/elitemodel2/fim_base_right.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t290/elitemodel2/fim_base_back.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t290/elitemodel2/fim_base_left.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t290/elitemodel2/fim_base_face.jpg

You can get student copies for much less then retail. But it is only for a year or so. I have 3ds max and Maya. So yeah lol. Keep up the good work on the models.

Are these ones that you made, or Halo 3 pictures?

I'd like to see what you could do with the grunts, and hunters especially. Keep up the good work, and I hope for an update today. :)
Posted by: Roderick No offense, but isnt it flood infected human than the other way around? And I like that model, it looks bizarre! In a good way ;p And for Bungie, I hope they at least make some more flood forms overall, including different types of infected humans, brutes, elites, jackals etc.
LOL I didn't even think of that. You're totally right!
Posted by: Mike Jensen
Posted by: BiscuitHead999 I am making a slide show using some of your pictures, is that okay?
As long as you don't claim them for your own -- please.
I will say I got them some IGN.com and some from you.

Sweet lookin' Flood. The only thing that I would suggest fixing is the left leg. Granted, the way you have it positioned just looks freaky to the point that it's cool, but as combat form, I think it may need a pair of crutches to keep up with the rest of the Flood! I love these models that you've been working on. Great job.
