==Update==
Anyways, here's an update of the arms. I was able to get a little sculpting today. The arms are maybe 60% done. Still need a lot of work on the form. Anyways, here's some images:

==End Update==
I've finished the third video tutorial (This is the first one done. I have to go back and finish the other two). The video deals with making the base model for your game character. Here are the video details:
Encoded with XviD
1 hour 5 minutes long
740 MB in file size
Download (Left Cick)
Simply open the link, and right click "save file/target as" the link called "Unknown" (under play/download on the left hand side).
Hope you guys learn something from this! :)
P.S. - In this video I don't go over the basics in 3ds max. I'm working on that right now, and that will be the second video tutorial. The first being one teaching to color your concept art.

How did you get into 3d design like your doing? Ive been trying to crack into the design elements of this kind of thing and would appreciate some tips on how to start off.

Those own hardcore.
Posted by: spelmaster5 what ever happened to your female spartan model?
It was inappropriate for the forums, so the thread was locked: Which is totally understandable. I'll post it up again once the armor is done, and she's not nearly nakey anymore. Sorry man. You can follow the thread over at cgtalk though. Get off your computer and go model for Bungie already. Seriously.
-
Man, if that's not a stoner thought, then I don't know what is, lmao
-
Would it be possible to make them retractable like a snakes fangs? As the mandables open, muscles could extend the teeth, and as they close, the teeth are smoothed back towards the throat?
-
not bad! pretty bad ass...final product should be awsome
-
Man great work, keepin' it real!
-
Great! Man, you are good at that! [Edited on 06.15.2007 9:59 AM PDT]

Nice and now I understand why it takes so long to make halo 3. It will be a masterpiece I say.
-
I couldn't hope to do anything like that... I kinda lack that patience. And my 3d modeling program is a bit more, basic. I've not been able to find any copies of 3dsMax anywhere, and the current program costs 3k... or something like that.
Posted by: moparfan90 if anyone want to try get into 3d modeling try using blender its free and a very well rounded program. http://www.blender.org
yup i use Blender. Definitely not the best but its free and works on macs so i can't complain.

For anyone who is wanting to buy 3ds max and think it is too expensive... I got a student priced version, so if you are going to school right now you can get a 1yr subscription to 3ds max for only $178.95. Here's a link to where i got mine: http://www.studica.com/products/product_detail.cfm?productid=51259
Posted by: Halo 2 Rookie Your models look really good. I know I don't understand how the system works, but I'm gonna guess that you're using a more effective program than the Xbox 360 can, and you're making it look good enough that you could use the less-pixelled program in Xbox 360? That's just what I'm getting. If you want criticism, I have some for the Elite, the Spartan, and the Flood Combat Form: Elite: Hard to find something to complain about, since I can understand some of your artistic alterations. I guess my biggest gripe is the open lower abdomen. I noticed you applied that bar around the back once or twice in your images, but mostly not. I would suggest either simply shortening the entire model and, of course, adjusting the area appropriately; or hunching over the elite model to make its open abdomen less noticeable. Take a page out of Bungie's book; I draw elites all the time, and they have barely any armor there, true enough. But because they hunch, they look fully plated to most people. Spartan: The lower abdomen poses a problem, and it's more of a problem of logic than appearance. Logically, if you're wearing plasma-resistant, bullet-proof, self-preserving armor with advanced energy shield technology, you want it to cover you as much as you can without losing movement capacity. Thusly, I've noticed that Chief's armor was thinned out in Halo 2, as opposed to its clunkier form in Halo: Combat Evolved. His armor ends too high up his body, your model; it is not unlike a bikini, albeit metal-coated and entirely resistant to damage from plasma. By my own (and probably mine alone) suggestion, I would want you to enlarge the upper armor entirely, because you have it right in every other aspect; it's just smaller than it should be. Combat Form: I don't have much of a problem, but there's a logic problem I consider; I've noticed there are a couple of branches of flesh/bone protruding from the upper arm to the side of the ribs. A combat form wouldn't have that; or at least, they wouldn't have it connected and hindering their flailing arms. Now, those criticisms aside, I think you did a very fine job. I don't see a reason you shouldn't get a job in whichever computer-based application you enter; and I hope you join Bungie, because your talent, even to my ignorant eyes, is obvious.
Wow, thanks for the indepth crits! This is the stuff that is most useful to me! Unfortunately, I won't be going back to any of the models, but these crits shape and mold how I work in the future, to make sure I don't make the same mistakes. Again, thanks a ton! Means a lot to me. :)

Nice... what software was this done with? 3DS Max? Blender?
-
Dude where can i see the H3 Elites??
quote by:Bill Gates Very exelent work on the elites, keep it up.
Damn you're good >.>. If you don't get the job, then I have lost all faith in bungie. P.S. Some of those pics are giving me flash backs to Starcraft. SPAWN MORE OVERLORDS. [Edited on 04.05.2007 7:09 PM PDT]
