I'm not saying this is true. Just speculation, but it doesn't sound unreasonable. With all the rumors of a new Xbox being right around the corner, maybe even this year, we've got to realize that Halo 3 may not be around for much longer. Like Halo 2 and the original Xbox games, they were eventually cut off because the 360 had been out for some time. Basically, now is the same situation, but the 360 will be the old console. If a new Xbox console comes out THIS year, that means we will have no idea when all of the 360 servers for the older games are shut down in favor of the new console games, and we'll have less time to find out. Not saying anything is being speculated or planned, just bringing this into the light. I only realized this yesterday. So what am I saying? Play Halo 3 while you can, because the next time you get yourself to play it, may be too late.

Halo 2 died off because Microsoft shutdown the older version of Xbox Live for the original Xbox so they could do updates to the newer version of Xbox Live for the Xbox 360, and that was like four(?) years after the 360 was released. I'm sure that if the same thing were to happen to the 360 when the 720 comes out, if at all, it wouldn't happen for years. IMO, there's nothing to really worry about yet.
