Im serious lets look at some other characters...
The Forerunners: In the eyes of the Covenant at least they are Gods, they may have created the flood and it got out of hand, in the bible God sent the flood to destroy all the -blam!-.
The Halos: It has been said that they could relate to the rainbow, which in the bible was put in place by God to insure the Flood never came back...
The Covenant: In the bible the Israelites were chosen by God, who made Covenant with them. Said that he would send his son and they wouldnt recognise him and would put him to death and it would result in them being scattered.
Jesus: Would, in a more realistic term, be humanity/mankind since they are the forerunners "sons" but obvioulsy MC is in essence Humanities represntative in the game since he is the main protagonist.
When Christ dies in the bible he stays dead for three days and then returns and a passage in the bible says he returned "leading captives in his wake"... maybe MC "dies" by leaving this space and going "elsewhere" and saves the other Spartans from the Dyson sphere and -blam!- slaps Durandel while he is there... just a thought
The ark may transport to Onyx too so he could save them and bring back enough SPARTANs to save Earth...? And scatter the covenant...

Thank you, someone finally has the balls to post this! Of course MC is a PICTURE of Jesus. He is definitely not JESUS who was crucified but I'm glad someone has made the connection. The Halo Universe is riddled with biblical type stories and characters (the Ark for instance, the flood) so the Chief must be a type of Jesus. The MC is more of a Jesus character than the Arbiter i I believe because the Arbiter has only just seen the light, he's more of a Disciple to MC. Halo 3 will probably be a great picture of the chapter called Revelation in the Bible. Can't wait to play it. Thanx for posting this again. im out

HAHA..........Jesus with a rocket launcher

I'd say Master Chief is more John the Apostle. One reference is, in Halo:CE, GS says, Take his head, dispose of the rest... John the Apostle was beheaded. I think the Arbiter morely resembles Jesus. He was betrayed by his ppl, just like Jesus was.

To the poster, I agree with and respect you. It's no secret that the Halo universe is ridden with biblical allusions. Anybody who thinks otherwise is just flat-out ignorant. But I'm not sure if MC would be Jesus. The Covenant call him "the demon", and to add to that the halos are meant to destroy the flood by ridding the universe of anything they can use as a food source (see: all life) So while the connections are there, some of them could be seen as being off. But great post. It's a breath of fresh air from all the other repetitive stuff on here.

Anti Religious Bull -blam!- MC is not Jesus. Proof he doesnt have Godly Powers.
-
I beleive the Masterchief is John The Babtist (I heard that from a few people on these boards), and The Arbiter is jesus.
-
Yes he is, Halo is just like a great book.... Everything/person in Halo stands for something larger than its/his/her self. I have also heard that people might think that the Arbiter "stands for"Jesus. This can go many ways but you are thinking in the right direction
-
Nah. Jesus is against the whole killing people thing, I don't think we can make a comparison of a killing machine to a person that, according to a really old book, embraced love a peace and whatnot, if you believe in that, that is. MC is more like Lucifer or um er Little Nicky?
-
-
You have a viable point, seeing as how much of Halo is greatly related to the bible. I've thought of this possibility myself but never got too far into it. However seeing as this is more around the time of Noah and the Ark i dont see MC being jesus but i wont entirely rule it out.
Posted by: Mikerules868 No, the Master Chief is Werid Al
Well it has the jewish connection but I dont see MC as white and nerdy though he might be Bill Gates under the helmet.... -blam!-

No, the Master Chief is Werid Al
Posted by: Bornswavia i dont see how its the same..totaly wrong dumb stupid retarded idiotic..
another person with an opinion who can't string together an argument... explain why. Someone above made a connection to the arbiter being more Christ like... thats called an argument... Not just an opinion. Instead of flaming discuss it and see where it can lead?!?!?!? If you disagree... great! I'm happy with that... shoot me down But argue your case otherwise your opinion is worthless and I dont care. So doesn't anyone else see a connection? There is clearly a biblical theme in the language and names used is the connection there aswell? Were the flood created or discovered???

Does Chief has a beard, wears a big white robe and gets crucified by Johnson? No.... Seriously it is believed Master Chief is Jesus, But I think the Arbiter is more of a Jesus, as you could see where he was burned in that first cenimatic, and received that scar.
Posted by: crakapleez911 ummmm.... Life?.... Get one???
Perhaps you are right... but I enjoy this sort of thing so obviously Im living whether you approve or not, someone will read it and add it to another theory and then to another and things will be morphed and changed until we have a coherent idea of what we think is going on... and since all ideas are no more than the connection of more or less simple impression (David Hume) if we can have the ideas then it is more than feasible that Bungie's masterpiece is based on the little things that fuel our little ramblings... speculation? Yes! Fun? Yes! Bothered about your opinion? Not in the slightest! It takes nothing to flame but takes real intelligence and wisdom to consider, create, concieve and construct arguments... Have a nice day

Jesus never killed, and he never wore high-tech armor. So no, Jesus isn't the MC :)

Jesus Christ...
